Get a new perspective of the Spanish capital as you discover the city's best landmarks with a local guide. Madrid's many contrasts are symbols of its rich history, with medieval façades and architecture standing alongside slick modern buildings.   Meet at the activity provider's office and kick off the experience with a 1-hour walking tour through the streets of the historic city center of Madrid. Then board an air-conditioned bus for a ride through the city. Leave Plaza de Oriente and head to the magnificent Puerta de Toledo. Marvel at the famous gate that dates back to the Napoleonic era. Then, see the oldest bridge in Madrid and drive along the Manzanares River from where you'll take in incredible views of the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral. Pass by Plaza Mayor, once the center of Old Madrid and now the oldest square in the city.  Spot significant sights such as the Puerta del Sol on your drive to Paseo del Prado. Marvel at the most picturesque streets in the city and see the Prado Museum. Drive by Cibeles Fountain, where Real Madrid fans celebrate the team's victories. Do not miss Puerta de Alcalá, the most famous of the five ancient gates into the city. Stop for pictures at Las Ventas bullring, where your guide will share some insights on the monument. To conclude, return to the coach and finish of the tour by exploring Santiago Bernabéu stadium and the important streets of Paseo de la Castellana and Gran Vía, also known as the Broadway of Madrid. Starting March 1, 2020, this tour will begin with a 1-hour guided walking tour.

Explore Madrid’s past and see its contemporary side as well on a comprehensive sightseeing bus tour, which ends with a guided visit to the Royal Palace.  Leave Plaza de Oriente and head to the magnificent Puerta de Toledo. Pass by Plaza Mayor, once the center of Old Madrid and now the oldest square in the city. Spot significant sights such as the Puerta de Sol on our way to Paseo del Prado. Marvel at the most artistic street in the city and look at the Prado Museum. Drive by Cibeles Fountain, where Real Madrid fans celebrate the team victories. Do not miss Puerta de Alcalá, the most famous of the five ancient gates into the city. There will be stop for pictures at Las Ventas bullring where your guide will share some insights on this famous monument. The last sights you will see on the first part of the tour are the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and the important streets of Paseo de la Castellana and Gran Vía, well-known as the Broadway of Madrid. But no trip to Madrid would be completed without a visit to the Royal Palace. Thus, a local guide will pick you up from our office for a guided visit to the same. Skip the lines and dive right into the history of this beautiful palace.  Build in an Italian baroque style, it was the former residence of the Spanish Monarchy from 1766 to 1931.  Once your guided visit finishes, you can stay inside the Palace and go to the Royal Armory on your own. Make sure not to miss the views from the viewpoint of the Armory square.

Discover the main sights of Madrid on a 2.5-hour orientation tour, and visit the most important monuments, squares and commercial avenues. Learn the history of the Spanish capital, from the old Habsburg and Borbon quarters, to the contemporary developments of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Discover the art deco buildings of the Gran Vía. Go to Plaza de España at its western end to see 2 of the city’s most impressive skyscrapers. Venture into Ciudad Universitaria (University City) to see the Palace of Moncloa, official residence of the Prime Minister of Spain since 1977. Continue down Calle Mayor to Puerta del Sol, where you will discover the clock with the bell that marks the traditional eating of the “Twelve Grapes” on New Year's Eve. Marvel at the monumental gate of Puerta de Alcalá, and go to Plaza de Colón (Columbus Square) for a complimentary soft drink at the Hard Rock Café. Continue along the wide Paseo de la Castellana to the Real Madrid stadium of Santiago Bernabéu. See some of Madrid’s most striking contemporary architecture in Plaza de Castilla, including the Caja Madrid Obelisk. Then, go inside the Royal Palace, former residence of the Spanish kings, and look at the opulent furnishings of the official reception rooms, Royal Chapel, Throne Room and private rooms of King Carlos III and Queen Isabel II.

Highly recommended to get an overview of the city. But beware: which bus you board for which tour is only visible at the front of the bus! I thought blue seats - blue tour - a mistake ;-)!

This activity is highly recommended to get to know and locate the main places of interest in the city. You go down and go up when you need it to enter a museum or visit a place
