Nice day trip in a boat visiting Yum Balum and Holbox Island

Nice day. Visited a fresh water under groud spring along the coast. Stop lasts for 30-45 minutes. Back in boat for ride over to Yum Balum. Then back in boat for two minute jump over to Holbox Isand. Both Islands were one island but the caribean thought overwise. Water split the outer edge of island into two seperate islands (cool places). Guide takes you for a walk down the beach to find the lunch host. The host was an authentic Holbox islander who cooked the catch of the day very well. You have a list of food to select from. Start off by placing some big plates of civiche with chips around the group (our group consisted of 8 people). I ordered the Whole fish with garlic and found it quite tasty. After lunch you have some time (I believe it was two hours) to explore Holbox island. A five minute walk from the beach is downtown Holbox. Dirt streets with local shops mixed in with modern tourist collectibles. Bring Pesos and water. Ride boat back to shore and take the bus/shuttle back.

A great park that will keep you busy if you like the water&marine

It is pricy but totally worth it. The cheapest tickets are those bought in advance, do choose the transportation option which will give you more time at the park. Very accessible with ADO bus as well but you loose about an hour in the morning. Meals and drinks are included ( that includes alcoholic beverages) and both are excellent. You get a locker and key as well. I chose to snorkel but you can also tube down the river. There are several access points to get in/ out of the water wherever you want. The trail along the cenotes is very nice as well but can be slippery on wet water shoes, look for the small caution triangles. I was in the water by 10 am, used a bicycle to get to the beginning of the river. I did the whole river to lagoon once and then spend time in the lagoon exploring the marine life near the rocks and watched the folks on the zip lines etc It’s huge! I had lunch in about 30 min, walked the trail for about 45 min., and spend the rest of the time in the water.

Spectacular time at park! Fun for all ages!

Get time at Xel-Ha. Didn’t wait to long in line. Photo package is definitely worth it so you don’t have to worry about carrying your camera all day! If you want an activity like swimming with the manatees (which my husband enjoyed) get there early. We arrived at 9am and the earliest slot they had available was 2:15pm. You must be on time too! Premium activities like dolphins, manatees, zip bike and fish therapy are all additional and range from $20-$119 depending on which one you choose. All food and beverages (including alcoholic beverages) are included! Fantastic time worth every penny. The only thing I can say is that I preferred to but the ticket online ahead of time so I know I have it....but it’s the same price at the park

Very entertaining, fun and beautifull places.

Tour staff were very knowledgeble, we learned about coral reef and how to keep the enviroment safe and clean for sea life. Staff was very friendly and always trying to keep the boat ride upbeat with music and dancing. Coral reef is really cool, lots of fish, corals, turtles and crystal clear water. Contoy Island is paradise, white sands and clear water. It may get busy sometimes with other tours but was good but not as bad compared to Isla Mujeres. Food was good too. Nice breakfast once you get to the marina, drinks from water to beer and nice lunch which include fish and/or chicken with rice and salad. We recommend for other people to bring sunglasses, hat and long sleeve shirt because sunblock is not allowed.

The trip was quite good. The Barrier reef was a bit choppy.Positives ..

We were able to see "live"corral, some fish and a wonderful canote. Our guide,Pluma, was very informative.Pluma dealt with humanity's connection with nature.(The circle of life and spiritual essence of our surroundings of nature.)...i.e.-respect and co-operation with nature. Our small group was treated to a nice lunch of burritos...as well as,sharing some pamphlets on the flora and fauna of the region. All in all a worthwhile trip.
