Full description

Explore the archaeological site of Chichén Itzá and uncover the history of Mayan civilization. Visit important sites, such as the step pyramid of El Castillo, and enjoy a buffet lunch.

Be picked up from one of the meeting points in Cancun or Riviera Maya and then travel to the pre-Colombian city of Chichén Itzá on the Yucatán Peninsula.

Located in the Tinúm Municipality, Chichén Itzá is famous for its step pyramid of El Castillo. Benefit from the services of a guide to learn the history of the ancient city and journey back to the days of the Mayan civilization.

Discover why the huge city played such an important role from the Late Classic period (600 AD) into the early part of the Post Classic period (1200 AD), and why it remained a huge center of pilgrimage until the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors.

Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the site, before visiting one of the secret sinkholes, or cenotes, sacred to the Mayan people.

It was a great day with Amigos. All stops and places were amazing. I was lucky to be early in Cenote as it became very crowded. We were at Selma Maya and it was a huge line of people down and in my pictures you can barely see the water as its soo crowded. Also the guide in Chichen Itza (which was amazing, skilled, informed) went on a little too long so we got really wet and that made everyones pictures ruined.

The tour was very good. We only booked one day in advance and it was a Sunday so we were a bit worried that it was too short notice but everything worked fine. Our guide Frank was very entertaining and led us well through the day. They changed the visiting order a bit on our tour. We went to Valladolid first then had lunch (at 11 am) and only went to Chichen Itza afterwards. I would have preferred to do it first while it is still cooler but I guess everyone wants that and they have to distribute the masses a bit. The tequila tasting is not really worth mentioning. you can taste a few small sips of flavoured tequilas at the cenote where they sell them.

Very pleased with this tour. We are older travelers and had no problems keeping up with our 40 something group. Our group was divided into two groups, Spanish and English speaking. Our Tulum guide, (Frank) was very knowledgeable. Our main tour guide (also Frank) was also very knowledgeable and managed the dynamics of our tour well. I'd recommend this tour to anyone.
