Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to experience several fascinating stops: Begin with a brief visit to the impressive Penon, where a knowledgeable English-speaking guide will share insights about this towering cliff and the history of the Taino natives, who were the island's first inhabitants. Next, you'll make a stop at the enchanting mangroves, where you can witness trees thriving directly in the seawater, creating a unique and picturesque landscape. Your first destination on Saona Island will be Catuano, a perfect location for snorkeling. Dive into the crystal-clear waters from the boat's piers and explore the vibrant marine life, including tropical fish and coral, in this tropical paradise. Following your underwater exploration, head to a pristine white sand beach, where you can relax with a refreshing drink, savor a delicious Dominican buffet lunch, and unwind while taking in the breathtaking panoramic views. To cap off your incredible adventure, you'll visit the famous natural pool, home to large starfish. Here, you can enjoy an aperitif in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, adding a perfect finishing touch to your day. Cruise to Cotubanama National Park and South Saona with this tour with options to leave from Bayahibe Village, Dominicus, Punta Cana, Bavaro, Uvero Alto, Juan Dolio, and Boca Chica areas. Select the group or private option. Stop at Cotubanama National Park and navigate in front of El Penon where the English-speaking guide will give you some information about the history of this cliff and the indigenous Tainos, the first inhabitants of the island. Sail on to see the mangroves. Glide over to the sea to Saona Island to see the charming fishing village of Mano Juan. Walk through the colorful houses and shops in the village before going to the turtle nursery. Learn about the turtles, and see hatchings if they have left their shell. Have an authentic Dominican meal in a restaurant with a splendid view of Saona beach. After lunch, leave for Canto de La Playa for two hours of relaxing and snorkeling. Finish, at a natural pool to see huge starfishes, swim, and sip rum.

Get ready for a day trip to Saona Island you will never forget. We will meet in our visitors center at the beach in Bayahibe. Departing from Bayahibe, we begin our journey along the coastline of the National Park of the East, passing El Peñon, an area once inhabited by the Taino people. Our first stop is the charming fishing village Mano Juan, with no cars and only 300 inhabitants. Explore the village and learn about local life. You will visit the sea turtle project, aimed at increasing hatchling survival. After enjoying some cold drinks below the palm trees we make our way to Canto de la Playa, the most remote corner of Saona Island. Enjoy the untouched nature and its crystal clear waters where you can go snorkeling or simply relax and enjoy the stunning beauty of the scenery. The next stop is Catuano Beach, where a traditional Dominican barbecue lunch is ready for you. Enjoy a siesta after lunch in one of the hammocks or take a refreshing dip in the ocean. Next we are off to explore the mangroves, a protected area in the national park National Park of the East. Learn about the importance of mangroves in our ecosystem and watch out for sea turtles in their natural habitat. Our last stop is the mesmerizing Piscina Natural, a sandbank in the ocean. Snorkel with the big cushion starfish or simply enjoy a drink while enjoying the warm hip deep water.

Full description We start off at 9 AM from the public beach of Dominicus Americanus via a speedboat or a motomaran and head in the direction of the famous Saona island. Accompanied by the charming Caribbean rhythms we will have our first stop in the Natural Pools, a huge area of crystal clear shallow waters, home to the Caribbean starfish. Music, various drinks ant rum will add to the fun and pleasure as we spend around 40 min bathing in this small paradise. Afterwards, on our way out of the Natural Pools we pass by the mangroves’ area as well as the Catuano channel, the division between the main Dominican island and Saona, and head to one of the most gorgeous beaches called Saona Paradise arriving at around 11AM. The beach is very spacious and clean, provides sunbeds (free of charge), bathrooms (male and female), showers, open bar (Coca Cola, Sprite, water, orange juice, coffee, rum, beer). Our charming photographer Cuchi Cuchi will be at your disposal in case you want a professional photoshoot on the island (paid for at the end of the excursion). At noon we invite our guests to enjoy a rich private buffet: barbecue (grilled chicken and pork), fish, beef meatballs, rice, bean sauce, boiled potatoes, seafood paella, both hot and cold pasta, fresh vegetables and fruits, bread. After lunch you will be able to enjoy the sun and the sea until 1:30PM. Once the beach is full we will leave for our next destination – the only inhabited place on Saona island, a small fishermen’s village called Mano Juan. You will get to enjoy 30-40 min of free time to explore the village or stay on the beach, whatever you prefer. Afterwards, we will leave for the most remote beach of Saona, the mesmerizing Canto de la Playa with its white sands and crystal clear waters, considered to be one of the most beautiful natulal beaches in the whole world. We will drop anchor here when the majority of the companies have already left which will give our clients the opportunity to enjoy this paradise without the mass tourism which occupies this area in the morning.
