Imbros Gorge is located in the south-eastern part of the White Mountains, it's length is 7 km and has slopes up to 300m high. It begins in the village of Imbros (800m) and ends in the village of Komitades (300m). It is part of the E4 European Long Distance Trail, it's relatively easy and pleasant path. At the beginning of the gorge you may see the old cobbled road that used to be the only way to connect the village of Sfakia with the northern side of the island. It's famous for its rare flora and beautiful scenery. Our bus will pick you up from a designated pick up point (outside or near your hotel) and after about 90 minutes drive we will arrive in the village of Imbros. Then follows the walk through the gorge, guided by our licensed trekking guide who will help you if you need it and give you information about the whole area. You will then visit Frangokastello, where we will have two hours free time to enjoy the sea! In the late afternoon we will return by bus to the same point you got picked up in the morning

Visit the most important Minoan palace on a full-day trip to Knossos Palace from Chania. Explore Heraklion city center with free time, and have the option to join your guide for a tour of the Heraklion Archeological Museum. Stop in the picturesque city of Rethymno on your way back to Chania. Along the way, stop for a break in Rethymno and enjoy more free time to stroll through the city’s streets. The tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

Imbros Gorge is in province Sfakia and is the second largest gorge in Crete, following Samaria Gorge. The picturesque scenery and its wilderness in combination with the low difficulty make the descent of Imbros ideal for families with children. The walking length of the gorge is 9 km and the course lasts about 2.5 hours. You can walk to the gorge all year round and it is definitely worth seeing. During your descent you will meet various famous locations such as the “Airplane”, “Stenada”, “Mesofarango” and “Xepitira Arch”. Imbros gorge was the escape route for thousands of allied troops retreating from the north of the island. During the period of the battle of Crete in 1941 the troops headed for Chora Sfakion to be collected by ships. From Imbros Village you will start hiking until “Komitades” village. You will meet traces of the old stone paved trail that was once the main passage from Sfakia to Chania. After approximately 1 hour of walk into the gorge, you will reach the narrowest point of the gorge. The walls of the gorge are less than 2 meters apart and tower 300 m. above. At the end of the gorge, you will reach “Komitades” village, where the bus will take you to Chora Sfakion. Chora Sfakion is the capital of the remote and mountainous region of Sfakia.
