Pairs: The Opera to Hotel des Invalides Guided Walking Tour

Pairs: The Opera to Hotel des Invalides Guided Walking Tour

Discover the Paris of Napoleon III on this exciting walking tour. Begin at the imposing Palais Garnier, a masterpiece of architecture dedicated to music and built in response to a tragic event in the Emperor's life. Continue along the historic Rue de la Paix to the opulent Place Vendôme, a luxury corner that houses the most prestigious watch, jewelry and fashion brands, with the iconic Ritz Hotel as the undisputed protagonist. The journey continues to the Place de la Concorde, bordered by the Tuileries Gardens, which witnessed the tumultuous years of the French Revolution. At its center stands an Egyptian obelisk, but during the Revolution it was here that the famous guillotine was installed. Our tour takes us along the majestic Champs-Elysées, considered the most beautiful boulevard in the world, where the history of French culture meets ancient Greece. Here we will stop between two emblematic palaces: the Grand Palais and the Petit Palais, which hosted the 1889 World Fair, a unique exhibition of its kind. Continue to the monumental Pont Alexander III, an architectural tribute to a Russian Tsar, from where you can see the Seine and the iconic Eiffel Tower. This concludes our tour of Napoleon III's Paris, but if you want to immerse yourself in the city's nightlife, we have a list of recommendations for dancing, eating and enjoying.
