What to Expect
Explore the coastal areas of Athens on a full-day sightseeing tour to Cape Sounio, with an English-speaking driver and deluxe minivan.
Pick-ups can be arranged from Piraeus Port for cruise ship passengers, or from central Athens hotels, after which you will travel along the coast to Cape Sounio, passing picturesque villages, such as Marina Flisvos, Kalamaki, Glyfada, and Voula.
Pause at the seaside resort of Vouliagmeni to visit the sunken caves of Lake Vouliagmeni (“Sunken Lake”), where the water is a constant 24 degrees Celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit) year round. Continue past the beach resorts of Lagonissi and Saronis.
Stop at the Temple of Poseidon, built in the 5th century BC and dedicated to the God of the Sea. Admire the ruins and get panoramic views from the headland.
