Pink Lake: 1 Hour Buggy Tour

2. Pink Lake: 1 Hour Buggy Tour

Come and join us in our side by side buggy as we explore Port Gregory and the Hutt Lagoon. The pink lake changes colour all year round depending on the sun and the clouds. The colour of the lake ranges from bright pink to purple, lilac, silver, pale pink and sometimes it just reflects the sky (which is still quite an incredible sight!) In summer the lake dries out to form a big salt lake - the colour is still pink but it is very pale. You are able to walk on the lake when it is dry. In winter (or after big rains) the lake fills up again. Learn about what makes the lake pink, the history of our fishing village which dates back to the 1800s, and take in the gorgeous beach and surrounds before climbing atop some massive sand dunes for an amazing view over the Hutt Lagoon. On the way back, we’ll use existing tracks through the dunes taking in the local flora and keeping your eyes peeled for local wildlife including kangaroos, lizards, and an amazing variety of birdlife, to the shores of the lake so you can get up close for those great photos! There are plenty of photo opportunities and you may even get to spot some dolphins or whales from the top of the tracks overlooking the ocean (depending on the time of year you visit us). An experience like no other, make sure you bring your smiles and your cameras!
