From Pinhão: Private Yacht Cruise along the Douro River

Barbara was sooo knowledgeable, kind and welcoming. We were the only two on the Unbelievable that afternoon and Barbara was both pilot and guide. As others have mentioned, she has roots in the valley and is a font of information about anything related to the land and the river. It's a beautiful boat. Don't have second thoughts about booking with them.

Barbara was a great captain, very knowledgeable about the local area, culture and vineyards plus we also enjoyed a spot of bird watching along the banks of the Duoro. Very nice glass of port to complete the trip - we recommend spending an hour or two on the river with Barbara if you are visiting Pinhao.

This was a special birthday celebration so we splurged on the 4 hour private tour. So worth it! Barbara was such a capable captain, and also such a good conversationalist and guide. She explained so much about the history of the area, the viticulture, and some cultural insights. The yacht is comfortable with a shaded, elevated deck. This made for great visibility and breeze on the tour. You don’t usually see boats of this high quality in these waters. You can also sit in the cabin if you’d prefer, and there is a head (bathroom) on board. Barbara demonstrated her skill docking this boat by herself in a tight-looking slip. It is clear she knows this area very well. The bespoke port wine served was a treat, too. At the end of the tour, we felt like we’d made a friend, not just been taken for a boat ride.
