Salaam Cave, Starfish Adventure, The Rock Lunch, Kuza Cave

I have mixed feeling about this. Our guide was friendly, eager to please, and spoke English well enough so no complaints there. The Rock is great! Definitely pre-order one of the special desert options. The caves were really interesting; wading in the water with all the turtles was fantastic. Snorkeling wasn't very interesting as it was mostly starfish and sand with an occasional big rock and some fish around it. No reef. The "swim with the dolphins" part at the start was sad and dangerous. 20 boats surged around the pod with people recklessly jumping into the water to try to see them from beneath the surface. There were a couple minor collisions between the boats and a couple minor, but much more concerning, collisions between boats and swimmers. Our captain, at least, did not push us to jump in and we elected to just watch from the boat. We had him leave early because it was so sad to watch the total lack of concern for these animals among both locals and tourists.

Our guide Abdul really made this day a party. We started with the trip to see dolphins and we were lucky to see a whole group and to be able to swim with them. Abdul gave a great explanation and also said in advance that if there were too many boats it would be too dangerous to swim. Fortunately this was not the case. Here we visited the sea turtles which was a very nice experience. The Kuza cave is also an experience in itself, swimming in a cave filled with fresh water, wonderful. Then starfish watching and snorkeling to finish with a meal on the Rock. Really recommended to do this trip and ask if it is possible to go with Abdul.
