Málaga: Museo Picasso Málaga Entry Ticket

1. Málaga: Museo Picasso Málaga Entry Ticket

The Museo Picasso Málaga was created in response to the artist's desire for his work to be exhibited in the city of his birth in 1881. Its realization is thanks to the combined efforts of the artist´s daughter-in-law and grandson, whose donations provide the body of the art collection, and Junta de Andalucía, who arranged an ambitious project devoted to the artist. Located in the Palacio de Buenavista, declared a National Monument in 1939, the Museo Picasso Málaga opened in the heart of Málaga in 2003. The building boasts a harmonic mix of Renaissance and Mudéjar elements and serene contemporary lines. Phoenician, Roman, and Arabic ruins can be found on the underground floor. This ticket provides access to the permanent collection containing examples of Picasso's revolutionary innovations. See paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, and graphic work, from his first academic studies to his personal Neoclassical perspective. Admire Picasso's overlapping Cubist forms, his experiments in ceramics, his interpretations of the Old Masters, and his last paintings from the 1970s. Break for a snack in the garden Café of the Palacio de Buenavista, a perfect place to end your visit with an appetizer, lunch, or a drink.

What people are saying about Picasso Museum Malaga

Overall rating

4.4 / 5

based on 2,563 reviews

Ester did the impossible. She explained Cubism to an artistic void so that it could easily be understood thus making interpretations of Picasso's art possible. Her knowledge of the museum and all things Picasso was extraordinary. Bravo, Ester!

Liked the freedom of wandering around in the museum, the availability of audio guide. I guess more information on Picasso's life would have been nice to have. Not very clear the last part of the tour, where other artists' work was exposed.

The great thing is that in Malaga you buy hop on-hop off and you can use it for all colors (routes). The bus was clean, so even when sitting at the bottom you could clearly see the objects. The map is very clear. I recommend

Magnificent museum with a captivating temporary exhibition, too bad the French audio guide didn't cover it, but a very nice activity that I recommend with my eyes closed!

Easy to access. Self guided tour with headset. Great display
