From Rome: Private Day Tour of Pompeii & Amalfi Coast

1. From Rome: Private Day Tour of Pompeii & Amalfi Coast

After your hotel pick-up in Rome, head to Pompeii. Walk through the cobbled streets and listen as your guide explains the ancient Roman way of life and Roman history. Travelling further to the coast, take in beautiful views of natural landscapes before reaching Positano with its maze of narrow streets full of leather handcraft shops and fabulous pebble beaches. The Church of Positano is characterized by a wonderful dome made with tiles of majolica. Here, you'll appreciate the narrow streets full of nice shops where you can buy, for example, leather sandals and dresses typical of Positano fashion or the famous limoncello. Leave the Amalfi Coast at about 17:00 and return to your hotel or apartment in Rome.

Amalfi: Limoncello Experience in the factory

2. Amalfi: Limoncello Experience in the factory

I will meet you in Piazza Duomo, the main square of Amalfi. In the first part of the experience, I will test your knowledge about limoncello. Once all doubts are clarified, especially regarding the choice of alcohol and recognizing a quality liqueur, I will explain in detail the maceration, production, and bottling process. Following that, I'll demonstrate how to taste it and at what temperature to serve it. After the initial tasting, a brief historical paragraph will follow, explaining the origins of the famous "gold of Amalfi." Next, you will personally experience producing my grandparents' original recipe. Finally, I'll reveal some tips for your future home experiences! Please inform me about any food allergies.

What people are saying about Piazza Duomo

Great guide who is very knowledgeable about Amalfi and it’s history. Learnt about many of the main historical attributes to Amalfi and it’s gorgeous architecture. A great cheeky lemon tasting (honestly, the products are better than restaurant quality and shop world wide!). Definitely worth while! Stairs optional

Tour of Amalfi and Atrani were great, but the highlight was the Church of St. Andrew in Amalfi. Also toured the city’s farmers market. Guide was very knowledgeable and also allowed time for questions and viewing at our pace.
