Fabio Grasso was an excellent guide especially since he is a very knowledgable post-graduate level student of architecture. The tour is perfectly paced with the right level of information. And it incorporates a lot about families and their buildings/homes not just churches. Be aware that you will be outside of the buildings so make sure you save time to visit the insides of the most important buildings on your own. Fabio recommended visiting the Santa Croce and Irena churches to see their interiors.

It's a very useful tool if you have time. Beyond what the tour guide suggests, you need more time to really get to know everything it has to offer. On the other hand, I was surprised that several places suggested by the audio guide require an additional fee. This ends up costing more than a guided tour. It's a self-guided way to get to know a place.

The tour guide was well informed and did her best to keep us all together. The tour ended up being 2.5 hours in very warm conditions which was a bit of a struggle. I recently did a tour of the old town in Rhodes which included a drink stop and also a stop in a lovely cake shop. A refreshment stop would be welcomed on the Matera walking tour

Giuseppe was terrific ! The tour wasn’t just about James Bond , but the history of Matera and how it came to be as it is today. Lots of antidotes about the James Bond film and Daniel Craig , and overall a great way to see and hear about Matera in a small group tour

Given the intense heat we had to endure on the tour, the guide did a pretty good job in keeping us moving and being able to inform at the same time. Overall an excellent experience and a tour that nobody should miss.
