Phoenix: Hot Air Balloon Half-Day Adventure
- Duration: 3.5 hours
We are so glad we signed up to explore the Sedona area and the Grand Canyon with this tour. We thought about it kind of last minute, but it was great to have someone else do the driving so we could take in all the scenery, since we were not from the area. Robert was a great guide; very knowledgeable and friendly, and Steve was great at calling us ahead of time to iron out specifics for time and pick up the next day. I would definitely recommend this tour if you are experiencing this wonderful area!
Tim was a superb guide. First we had a training section with the Segway so we were comfortable going forward, stopping turning left, right, etc. Secondly he was the rarest or rare teachers-he made learning, FUN! He told us the history of the local Indians, he taught us the geography and all about the local cacti. He even had each Segway fitted with a liter of water-it gets hot out in the desert. He also had a great sense of humor.
The tour guide Eddie was prompt, enjoyable, engaging, informative, flexible and a safe driver. Tour vehicle could have been a little more accomatative for holding drinks, food, and supporting electronic devices; but other than that comfortable ride. Time allowed at canyon stops were sufficient for photos and other activities. Stop at Sedona was short but good sample for what to look forward to for future visit.
I HIGHLY recommend this tour. My son and I had already done 2 days “on our own”, and within the first 15 minutes I knew more about Arizona than I had learned in 48 hours. Eric was AMAZING. His knowledge of Arizona history, vegetation, culture, folklore, traditions - just to name a few, was invaluable! This is a MUST DO especially if you can get Eric as your driver/guide/expert.
The guide, Cactus Jack, was very knowledgeable about the desert, the different types of cactuses, the wildlife, what different desert plants are used for, and even had us taste a cactus. He was also very funny and overall a great guy. The ride was covered, so we were kept out of the sun, but the sides were open so that we could see everything.
