Our first stop will be at a winery, where you will have the opportunity to learn about the winemaking process from an expert guide. Enjoy this small group tour from Porto to the Douro Valley by van. The Alto Douro Vinhateiro or Alto Douro Wine Region is an area of northeastern Portugal with more than 26,000 hectares classified by UNESCO on December 14, 2001 as a World Heritage Site in the category of cultural landscape, surrounded by mountains that give it particular mesological and climatic characteristics. This region, which is bathed by the River Douro and forms part of the so-called Douro Wine Region, has been producing wine for over 2,000 years, including the world-famous Port wine. Meet your guide at the Meeting Point in Oporto (Hotel pick-up option also available at an extra cost), sit comfortably in the VAN to start the journey to the Douro Valley (about 1h30min). The first pass by will be Régua - the capital of Port wine - where you can enjoy the mountainous hills with the River Douro in the middle. (Depending on the time of day, it may only be a pass by without a stop.) The first visit will be to a big-name estate - Quinta do Seixo - which belongs to Sandeman. Here you'll have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the inside of the winery and learn about the production methods, and you'll have the chance to enjoy the famous port wine. Afterwards, we'll go for lunch at a typical Portuguese restaurant where you can try some Portuguese cuisine (If you have any dietary restrictions, please mention them when booking). Jump back in the van to head for Pinhão. Relax on a 50-minute cruise on a typical Portuguese boat, the Rabelo, where the port wine used to be transported. We'll visit the last local producer, the Olive Oil Museum, where you can enjoy the table wines (red, rosé and white), almonds, honey and olive oil. We'll return to Porto and you'll be dropped off again at the meeting point or at the hotel (depending on the option purchased). Enjoy the natural beauty of the Douro Valley, every season of the year is a beautiful time to visit this region. In spring it's beautiful to see the almond trees in bloom, in autumn the predominant colors of the vineyards are brown and yellow. It's an unforgettable experience!

Discover the beauty of the Douro Valley on a full-day trip from Porto. Travel in a comfortable bus and take a guided tour of Amarante's charming old Town. Spend some free time purchasing a tasty lunch before visiting a lush wine estate and the picturesque town of Pinhão. Meet your guide at a centrally-located point in Porto and hop aboard a spacious bus for the scenic drive to Amarante along the N222 road. Take a tour of the old town to admire the town's church and the Convent of São Gonçalo before having free time to explore or try pastries at an iconic pastry shop. Continue to Peso da Régua, where your guide will provide you with some recommendations before providing you with free time purchase lunch in one of the numerous restaurants in the area, visit the Douro Museum, or go for a refreshing walk along the river. Make your way to one of a famous wine estates in the region. Treat your palate to some of the port wine that the region is so famous for. After this, head to Pinhão. Enjoy having free time to explore the old town and see the classic wooden rabelo boats. End your experience in the Douro Valley with a stop to snap pictures at a breathtaking viewpoint before returning to your meeting point.
