Love the way the wild life has been protected. Saw our little Quokers but there was also peacocks, skinks, crows turtles and dolphins and the possibility of spotting some whales on the way over. The ferry was well operated clean and the staff professional and friendly. The commentary on the way over and back was very interesting and full of historical facts about Perth and the island.
Booking online was easy but GYG didn’t respond to my pick up request so i called Rottnest Express who suggested parking at Fremantle C Shed for $10 for all day which worked out well. The ferry was fine, the bikes were all quite old but it was great fun going round the island all day. Plenty to see and do. All in all a great day out and well worth it.
Only down side of the booking was that they forgot to pick us up at our hotel. They also didn't send us the Qrafter code for our return ferry ride. However, after running the streets of Perth down to the jetty, we made it just in time, and they let us on the return trip too. So those staff were friendly, even though the Office stuffed things up.
We took a day trip booked on line and had no trouble with tickets or hire of bikes Would recommend and next time take accommodation on the island. Looked very relaxing and restaurants bars and facilities looked welcoming.
A very pleasant excursion. Ferry ride was unremarkable although somewhat 'bouncy'. Coach driver (Bob) was very informative and Gunnery tour volunteer (Len) was excellent. All in all a trip well worthhwhile.
