Upon arrival at the river we then went in groups of five on a 1 hour cruise in a sampan up the Red River to the pagoda drop-off. Very serene and peaceful along this very clean section of the river. you can walk but it is quite steep towards the top which is about 30 minutes by foot.or buy extra ticket for cable car if you want . The second pagoda is actually a giant cave in the belly of the mountain (more steps) and worth seeing. There is also a great view of the escarpment and valley back to Hanoi from the cable car station. Lena , our Local guide was a delightful host for the day. Tips and Hints: - It will be hot so wear a hat, if you haven't got one buy one at the sampan departure location; they're dirt cheap - There is free wifi access (Hanoli Tourism) at the sampan departure location - Take the cable car it's more fun - There are plenty of places to buy water all along the
