Departing from Barcelona Nord Bus Station, we will take the motorway and around 10:15am, we shall arrive in Calella de Palafrugell. It is a small fisherman’s village that still retains today the traditional appearance of the past. It is a village of great beauty in both architecture and landscape. Scattered with small bays, the town is a fusion of land and sea which create a uniquely beautiful setting. We will have free time to explore the village, enjoy the scenery and for sure, take great photographs. About 11:15am, we will take a stroll along the path called “Camino de Ronda”, which takes us to the neighborhood town of Llafranc. The “Camino de Ronda” borders the entire Costa Brava and was used to control maritime smuggling. Today, thanks to this road, you can discover beautiful spots that wouldn’t be accessible otherwise. Llafranc is also a small, elegant and captivating seaside town, with all the delightfulness of the towns on this coast. You will have free time for lunch and taste the typical fishermen’s cuisine of this area. If you wish, you may also go for a swim in the Mediterranean Sea at its splendid beach. Our next visit will be Begur, a town with elegant mansions located beneath an old castle and famous for its “Indian Houses”. The so-called “Indians” were the town’s inhabitants who immigrated to America in the 18th century; they made a fortune and upon their retirement, they returned and built these elegant mansions. As you stroll along its streets, you will discover this uniquely beautiful architecture which features a unique blend of Mediterranean and Caribbean styles. Our next stops will be the towns of Peratallada and Pals, which are considered to be the best conserved medieval towns in Catalonia. Peratallada, declared a Historical-Artistic Site and Cultural Asset of National Interest, is one of the most outstanding examples of the country’s medieval architecture. You will be amazed by its peculiar location on top of a rock, as well as the spectacular moat excavated inside it, which surrounds the town. Upon arrival, we will take a stroll through its narrow winding streets, discover its original castle-palace, its exceptional fortification system and its stone houses whose streets have been virtually unchanged by the passage of time. The last stop will be Pals, declared Cultural Asset of National Interest, a town located inland and on top of a hill. The village is built entirely in an integrated medieval site. At the top, there is a cylindrical tower from the 12th century, which is visible from far away. It has an excellent terrace that offers stunning views of the Costa Brava and surroundings. Walking through the cobbled streets, you will feel like you have gone back in time. Take time to appreciate the round arches, facades with pointed window arches, stone balconies, all perfectly restored. At 18:00 the tour is finished and we go back to Barcelona, where we shall arrive at around 20:00.

Uncover the Indiano Colonial-style houses, built for people who emigrated to America and Cuba and returned with a fortune. On the beach of Port Bo, admire the packed boats filled with people singing their melancholic songs. Take a 15-minute walk along a sea path to Llafranc, a small Cove of golden sand with a small promenade, terraces, and restaurants. From here, the surrounding hills where the lighthouse of Sant Sebastià stands provides magnificent views over the coast. From Llafranc you'll go to Begur, another fishing village, with a castle at the top overlooking the coast and the plain of the Baix Empordà. Wander through the intricate narrow streets and small squares, discovering little gems that stand out over the other buildings. Stop for lunch in Pals, where you can taste the delicious rice that is grown in this area. After lunch, visit the Gothic quarter known as Pedro, the Church of Sant Pere, the Tower of the hours, and Peratallada, a marvel of medieval civil architecture. See how this small town retains its feudal inheritance intact, with narrow, winding streets and stone buildings. According to the season we will visit either Perpignan, Ceret or the coastline village of Collioure. You'll have some free time to have lunch and to explore on your own. We will drive back to our accommodation for dinner time. DAY 4 After indulging in yet another delectable morning meal at home, we will leave our cosy nest in the countryside heading to Girona. The third biggest city in Catalonia after Barcelona and Tarragona became famous thanks to Game of Thrones. We will show you the old town around (visit the farmers market Tues/Sat) and you’ll have some free time to explore and have lunch at your pace. We will drive back to Barcelona at around 4 o'clock.

Start your day with a pickup from your hotel in Barcelona and travel to the old city of Girona. Once you arrive, your driver will take you to the historic Jewish Quarter. In this area, you can find the traditional Arab Baths, the Gothic Collegiate Church of Sant Feliu, and the ancient Girona Cathedral. Climb the 86 steps of the Cathedral and get a close-up view of Catalan Architecture created by Jaume Fabre. While in this town, be sure to check out the famous Roman-style Torre de Les Hores, a huge tower standing proudly above the other buildings. Peratallada is an extremely well-preserved feudal village, best known for its stone buildings, carved from the moat which encircles most of the city. This village is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee before embarking on the return journey to Barcelona. Once you have finished exploring the lovely villages of Pals and Peratallada, your driver will take you on a leisurely afternoon drive back to your accommodation in Barcelona, concluding your tour of Girona.

We had an amazing time on our trip to Costa Brava! From start to finish, it was an unforgettable experience. We began the day with a scenic drive to Girona then guided tour/walk of the city. Next, we made a stop by the charming village of Peratallada then on to Costa Brava. The trip offered a mix of culture, history, and nature. We had time to check out some local spots where we had delicious food and phenomenal scenery. The vibe was just right. We loved our guide, Julio. We highly recommend this trip to anyone!
