Have the opportunity to swim with wild dolphins or among seals and snorkel some of Kangaroo Island's stunning coastline. Enjoy an amazing wildlife encounter on an action-packed boat tour. Arrive at The Visitor Information Centre in Penneshaw, where you will be fitted into a wetsuit, mask, snorkel and flippers and provided with a safety brief. Jump on board the vessel in search of the marine life that inhabits the incredible coastline. Spot the cheeky seals lounging on the rocks and playing in the water. Then, it's time to dive in. These curious seals can be quite interactive and playful and provide a fun snorkelling experience. Search for the dolphin pods that reside in these coastal waters and take the opportunity to swim alongside them in the wild. A truly unforgettable wildlife encounter. Your guide will also provide informative commentary along the way. PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE WILD ANIMALS. THIS TOUR IS SWIM WITH DOLPHINS OR SEALS - It depends on what occurs on the day and what the wildlife chooses to do. We will try our best to swim with both, however it may on be with DOLPHINS ONLY OR SEALS ONLY.

Day 1: Today, an early start is required to catch your 6.45am SeaLink bus transfer from Adelaide CBD to the ferry terminal at Cape Jervis. Board the ferry for a 45-minute cruise to Penneshaw on Kangaroo Island. Your Untamed Escapes Guide will meet you here. Take a scenic drive to Pennington Bay and climb the 500 steps to the top of Prospect Hill. Pop into a honey farm to learn all about these fascinating creatures and, of course, do a tasting and visit family-owned Dudley Wines. Come late afternoon, arrive at our eco-campsite, featuring private access to one of Kangaroo Island’s most stunning beaches – Antechamber Bay. Roll out your swag underneath the billions of stars of the Milky Way and feel an incredible connection with nature. Today we drive approximately 240 km. Day 2: After breakfast, it's time for an incredible wildlife encounter. Seal Bay is home to the third-largest colony of endangered Australian sea lions, with around 800 calling the bay home. Join a 45-minute tour with the National Parks & Wildlife guides. Follow a boardwalk through the dunes down to the beach, and on the way, pass sea lions snoozing or even lying in the middle of the beach path. Next, we'll set our coordinates for the iconic Flinders Chase National Park, located at the northwestern point of the island. This park is renowned for its rock formations, rugged coastline, and abundant wildlife. At Admirals Arch, wander along a boardwalk as you soak up the serenity and keep your eyes peeled for the resident New Zealand fur seals. After a full day, head back towards camp for some free time to reflect and relax before dinner. Today, we drive approximately 350 km. Day 3: Start the final day of your tour with a morning bush walk not far from camp. Along the quiet north coast of the island, find spectacular bird life in the lagoon's shallow, calm waters and trees. Here, we will find a spot to have our final meal together, followed by a nice stroll along the water, looking for the many different species that inhabit the American River. In the warmer months, weave your way through a labyrinth of caves before emerging at the beach voted best in Australia in 2023 – Stokes Bay. If the weather is right, enjoy some free time to snorkel among the rock pools or soak up the surrounding landscape. The National Trust of South Australia cares for the world's natural and built heritage and relies on the support of volunteers to protect and preserve special places. So, this afternoon, roll up your sleeves for some conservation volunteering at Zelling Reserve—an important wildflower sanctuary preserving native flora on the eastern end of Kangaroo Island. After a fabulous Kangaroo Island tour, arrive in Penneshaw for your 5.30 pm ferry back to the mainland. Once you arrive in Cape Jervis, your SeaLink bus connection will have you back in Adelaide at 9 pm.

Get a glimpse of Kangaroo Island’s history, culture, and local products on our five hour island exploration from Penneshaw to Kingscote and back again. Explore local eucalyptus oil and honey producers, enjoy a tasting at a local brewery, spend free time in our largest town and have photo opportunities of original giant artworks and nature locations. A perfect way to learn something of Kangaroo Island life, its history, local culture and unique products that are only found on the island. The first stop is the iconic Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery. Here you can learn about the manufacturing process and history of the eucalyptus distillery via a short DVD. You can also view a large range of local products and produce. Keep a look out for the friendly local kangaroos and the emu’s that give the area their name. Next, stop at the Kangaroo Island Ligurian Bee Co where you can taste and purchase some of the purest honey in the world. Then travel to the township of Kingscote, the largest town on the island and South Australia’s oldest European settlement. You will have one hour to explore the main township, shop at the local gift shops or have lunch in one of the local cafes. As we leave Kingscote past the famous Silo Art which has become a fan favourite. Marvel at the largest kangaroo in Australia and the glossy black cockatoo. Next up is a stop at Kangaroo Island Brewery. Founded in 2015 Kangaroo Island Brewery creates unique craft beers and ciders. You’ll sit back, relax and enjoy a tasting with the option to purchase further drinks. Lastly we stop by Pennington Bay, known for its sweeping panoramic views of wild coast and turquoise waters. A fantastic photo-op stop over. Local informative history is provided whilst you enjoy a return transfer back to Penneshaw.

Discover the nature, wildlife, and wine and spirits of Kangaroo Island on a full-day bus and ferry tour from Adelaide that includes a 2-course lunch. View the only “In-Flight” Birds of Prey display in South Australia, Next, go to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery for a delicious 2-course lunch followed by a guided tour of the distillery. Finish off with some free time in the souvenir shop to buy eucalyptus oil products. Continue to the Clifford’s Honey Farm shop, home of the famous island homemade honey ice-cream. See a working beehive, taste different varieties of pure Kangaroo Island Ligurian honey, and sample and buy honey beauty products to take home as a memento. Lastly, take part in a structured wine tasting with peaceful views of the surrounding vineyard at the False Cape Wines cellar, which was built from recycled wood, jetty timbers, and limestone sourced on the property.  End the tour at the Penneshaw Hotel where you have ample time to have dinner (at your own expense) before returning to the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal for your ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide.

If you're a true foody, this is the perfect way to make the most of your cruise stop and get to know the island through its diverse culinary offer. After getting picked up from the port, begin with a scenic drive to Pennington Bay. Take in spectacular views of the Penneshaw coastline as you arrive at a stunning beach, where dolphins and whales can often be spotted. Snap some amazing photos and head out on your food journey. Visit Clifford's Honey to learn about the history of the Ligurian Bee on Kangaroo Island and taste the different honey varieties. Move on to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus, where you can learn how a traditional Australian bush product is made at South Australia's only commercial eucalyptus oil distillery. Hear how the distillation process takes place before going over to Emu Bay and the Lavender Farm for morning tea. Stop at Kingscote for some time off to wander around and make your way to Bay of Shoal Wines for a great wine tasting. Finally, visit Kangaroo Island Spirits for some gin, vodka, and liquor tasting, then be driven back to the cruise ship terminal at Penneshaw.

Board your bus at the meeting point and head to your first stop at the Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, the only commercial eucalyptus oil distillery in south Australia. Sit and enjoy a morning tea while you keep an eye out for the local emus. Continue on to Flinders Chase National Park and its Admirals Arch, a beautiful natural rock arch shaped by the powerful Southern Ocean. Look for fur seals and admire the sculptured granite boulders known as Remarkable Rocks. Next, head on to Vivonne Bay and marvel at the sweeping coastal views and crystal-clear waters. Stop and enjoy lunch as you take in the views. Afterward, visit the Kangaroo Island Raptor Domain, where you can get up close and personal with some of the most beautiful and deadliest birds in the world. Meet some famous feathery locals such as Jedda the majestic Wedge-Tailed Eagle and Casper the friendly Barn Own or Take part in an interactive and educational your experience that highlights this organization's efforts to protect and conserve birdlife and reptiles. When you're finished, sit back and enjoy the scenic drive back to Penneshaw.

Your day begins with a drive through the rich countryside of Kangaroo Island as you travel to Cape Willoughby Conservation Park. Enjoy the views of local bushlands and beaches as you are afforded the opportunity to learn about the areas amazing maritime history and tough living conditions of the early settlers. Once you enter Cape Willoughby Conservation Park you will get the chance to visit South Australia’s first lighthouse. Take the time to soak up the amazing coastal views, get out a camera for a photo-op or, if available, book on for an optional tour of the lighthouse itself. There is a lot to learn and explore on the Cape, including its role in coastal shipping, colonial trading and passenger transport during early European settlement. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for those Kangaroos! The Cape is home to several mobs of this iconic Australian Kangaroo who are often seen lazing around, feeding or interacting in large numbers throughout these areas. Your guide will keep an eagle eye out for these cute locals, but we bet you’ll spot them almost before we do!* Next you’ll further your exploration of the Cape with a scenic drive through Antechamber Bay and Chapman River, taking note of the varied landscapes that exist on the island and getting a glimpse of local island life. After getting in some great views and history its onto your wine tasting! You'll get to sit and relax and try some delightful local wines as you learn about the local wineries that Kangaroo Island hosts. Lastly, arriving back at Penneshaw you’ll stop at a lookout for some great views of this small island town and the sweeping landscape that surrounds it.

Visit Seal Bay and enjoy a guided encounter with the endemic Australian Sealions, a must-do experience on Kangaroo Island. Your day begins with pickup from Penneshaw before your guide takes you on a drive through local bushland to Seal Bay Conservation Park. An unspoiled coastline and a local sea lion population make Seal Bay one of South Australia’s top ten tourist destinations (as voted on Trip Advisor). Home to an Australian sea lion colony for almost 1000 years, you’ll be amazed at the sight of these beautiful local marine mammals as they laze about on the beach. There are no enclosures or cages at Seal Bay, so you get to enjoy these amazing animals in their natural habitat. You will be greeted by a Seal Bay guide who take you down onto the beach and to the colony itself where you will learn more about these unique animals. Unsure about beach walking? You can choose instead the day to do a self-guided walk along the 900-meter boardwalk with multiple viewing platforms. After your guided tour head down to Pennington Bay for a photo op of its amazing rocky coastline and pounding waves. It’s gorgeous aquamarine water and unique rocky formations make for a great photo.
