Full description

With calm beaches, clear waters, and an unspeakable beauty, the archipelago of Berlengas is the perfect day trip from Peniche. 

Located approximately 7 miles away from Cape Carvoeiro, in Peniche, the archipelago consists of 3 island groups: Berlenga Grande, Estelas and Farilhões-Forcadas. The archipelago is also considered part UNESCO's World Network of Biosphere Reserves.

The ferry will take you from Peniche to Berlengas, where you will be able to enjoy and explore the island on your own. You will have close to 2/3 hours to explore the archipelago before boarding the return ferry to the starting point.

Meeting point

Look for three houses on top of a wooden platform. This is where the "Feeling Berlenga" offices are located. Feeling Berlenga staff will be wearing a light blue T-shirt or a dark blue sweatshirt.

  • For more information about the mandatory registration fee and tax, go to: https://berlengaspass.icnf.pt/
  • For ecological reasons, access to the Island is limited: before purchasing the boarding ticket, you must register and pay the tourist tax on the BerlengasPass platform, using the following link: https://berlengaspass.icnf.pt/
  • The tour can be done in a catamaran or big Zodiak (normal season), or small Zodiak/ yacht in the low season (fewer people) or when the catamaran is full in the high season, depending on the availability of the day
  • Note that the catamaran or fast boat takes 25 minutes/30 minutes to get from Peniche to Berlengas
  • If the group includes multiple languages, the guide will speak first in Portuguese, then in English, and after that in Spanish
  • The trip depends on the minimum number of passengers being reached and the sea conditions

everything was great, wish we had a bit more time on the island, but all in all amazing. The boat operators were sweet and they stopped to let us look at the doplhins :)
