What people are saying about Peniche
This place is breathtaking, I've never been somewhere so beautiful! It was a toss up between this and Sintra, and I was a little worried as this is lesser known but I do not regret it at all! The tour itself ran on time, the van was air conditioned too. They don't actually give you a tour of the island, but you do get a little info if you decide to do the optional cave tour, other than that they're basically just a drop off service but it doesn't matter anyway as the place is so amazing you'll be more than happy to go off and explore by yourself. The boat ride over was also really good, even in the not-so-calm waters you could barely feel anything. Honestly please do this trip, or visit Berlengas some how, you won't regret it! And do the cave tour if possible! We couldn't kayak due to the wind but the little boat got us close enough for us to still enjoy :) also note the shops and cafes are closed in off season so bring your own food! 10/10 would do this again!
The whole day was extremely well organized. Claudia sent us several emails to prepare. She arrived on time and showed our small group nice local places in Peniche. The boat trip was magic. Claudia guided us very well during walk in the island and visit to the castle. She managed cave tour as she organized calm wheather. At the end also short time for a jump into the ocean. Boat trip back was sunny and relaxing. Thanks for enthusiast driving Claudia dropped us in Lisbon having still a long evening ahead of us.
The day of our trip was so foggy we could barely see so I was pretty worried about the boat trip in such weather. Fortunately, everything went well; the boat is for about 20 people, nice trip both ways. Nuno - our guide was really informative and helpful, thanks to him I didn't crash kayak into a cave
