This is advertised as “spend a day snorkeling”, but in fact you only get 1/2 an hour of snorkeling over a reef. The rest of the day you are limited to a pretty swimming beach - lots of clear water and sand, but nothing to see in the way of snorkeling. There are only 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards which you have to share w a boat load of people and you have to make do with broken paddles. And you have to stay within the boundaries of the swimming beach. I guess it’s alright for people who’ve never been to a pretty beach before, but we are not “first time” snorkeled (though apparently most of the guests were) and we wanted to snorkel all day. Most guests seemed happy playing on the pretty beach and were content to snorkel only 1/2 hour on the reef, but if you’re a die hard snorkeler, you’ll feel short-changed. Same if you’re a kayaker. If you’ve never done it before, this would probably be ok, but if you’re experienced, this seems very limiting. You can’t paddle around the island.

Had the most amazing beach day at Pearl Island! Loved the white sand, blue seas, palm trees, and the little crabs which scuttled across the island. It was a bit busier than I'd imagined (with up to 200 people on what is a very small island) however there were plenty of deck chairs to use, and it didn't feel too crowded, especially after some of the earlier boat loads of people left (you have wristbands depending on your timeslot) Lunch was tasty, with a decent portion size. Don't expect a Michelin star, but decent given how many they're catering for Unfortunately due to weather conditions (the sea was a bit choppy) they cancelled the snorkelling guided tour on the reef (which we were pretty gutted about) however we were told we'll get a partial refund (have to wait and see if that materialises). For the same reason they weren't letting people use the kayaks or paddle boards.

Trip left promptly as scheduled. Boat ride to Pearl Island was fairly short. We didn’t realize our group was supposed to snorkel right away, but it wasn’t a big deal. We snorkeled for about 30 minutes before exploring the island. Lunch was good, and there was a bar to buy drinks. The lighthouse was cool. The beauty of the island and surrounding water made it all worthwhile. We were happy w the cost as well—definitely recommend!
