This specially designed 7-hour tour around the city of Rio de Janeiro provides a unique chance to see the attractions of Rio de Janeiro with a professional English-speaking tour guide showing you all around. The day tour starts with pick-up at your hotel or hostel in Rio (pick up only at some areas in Zona Sul)*. Your first stop will be at Christ Statue (ticket included) to avoid the crowd we arrive early there. From there, you will visit Parque Lage at Tijuca National Park and get a glimpse of the greenest tropical rainforest. This is the best spot to check how nature and the urban area can coexist, tropical plants, and wildlife. After that, stop for lunch (not included) and then hit the road again, this time to visit Maracana Stadium from outside, then go towards the Centro to go to Cinelandia (Municipal Theater) from outside and the Cathedral (visit inside). Then finally we will visit the Selaron Steps at Lapa and Santa Teresa Neighborhood. After pickup head straight to the Botanical Garden of Rio de Janeiro, the oldest such garden in Brazil. The gardens were founded in 1808, around the same time that the Portuguese Royal Family arrived in Brazil. Dom João VI, then a prince, wanted to see if Caribbean spices would adapt to Rio’s climate. Start with a visit to the Environment Museum before walking around the grounds and admiring the native vegetation. Enjoy the beauty of Frei Leandro Lake and victoria amazonica, a species of flowering plant and the largest of the Nymphaeaceae family of water lilies from the Amazon Rainforest. Admire the orchids and the bromeliads collections. Learn about 19th-century Brazilian history from your guide as you stroll amongst the buildings in the garden. Marvel at the beauty of Musas Fountain and explore Pedro Cachimbo rose garden. Take photos between palm trees and make a stop at the Japanese Garden, created in 1935 from the donation of 65 species of typical Japanese plants. We will start our tour before the sunrise in the true local experience, where we will have the opportunity to be a carioca (resident of Rio de Janeiro) for a day! In this completely unique itinerary, the goal is to avoid peak hrs, watch the most beautiful sunrise in the city, and arrive at Christ the Redeemer during the early hrs, with the possibility of capturing incredible photos. After exploring the Christ the Redeemer Monument, we will descend the historic streets of Santa Teresa towards the Selarón Steps to appreciate the convergence of diverse cultures in one place. After that, we will conclude our experience at the charming Parque Lage, which features a mansion in the middle of a forest full of nature, and optionally enjoy a brunch.

The Christ Redeemer trail lasts around 2hs, and crosses the preserved Atlantic forest of the Tijuca National Park to one of the most beautiful views of the city from the top of the mountain!
