Full description

Enjoy a leisurely lunch that provides a great opportunity to taste and learn about French products. Starting at noon in a beautiful tasting room close to the Louvre, try 5 different wines from 5 different regions of France.

From Champagne and Bordeaux, Sancerre and Rhone, sit back and enjoy this tasty “Tour de France” of wine and cheese.

Most of the presentation will be focused on wine. But enjoy food suggestions and pairings, and listen as your sommelier explains why each cheese works with individual wines. Indulge in 2 of the best delicacies from France, learn how to read a French wine label and how to pair wine with food.

Along with wine and cheese, try some charcuterie of smoked ham from the south-west of France and some Corsican saucisson to bring even more joy and color to the table.

The wine bar is located in a ‘hotel particulier,” previously owned by Mme de Pompadour in the 17th-Century. Voltaire, Rousseau, and George Sand used to come to these famous receptions organized by the lady of the house. In the beautiful old vaulted cellars, the most famous French wines were stored to serve to guests.

The tasting included 5 wine & cheese pairings from different regions of France. Our sommelier Rudy was knowledgeable and open to any questions the group had. He also created a very friendly atmosphere. This is definitely a great way to spend a couple of free hours in the centre of Paris.

This was our first wine tasting and what an experience it was! Our sommelier, Alain, was incredibly knowledge about the wines and cheeses on offer but also the wider wine industry. He gave expert knowledge on the science behind why certain wines are nicely paired with certain cheeses, and gave excellent recommendations for hosting our own wine and cheese evenings. The wine measures were great and the cheeses were plentiful - with the option to also have a charcuterie board alongside. The location for the tasting was also fantastic; it was held in one of the older buildings in Paris. A truly special experience and one we cannot recommend more!
