Hear about the fascinating historical events that took place in many of the palace’s rooms, before stepping out to explore the vast gardens complex with your guide or on your own. Know before you go

  • Baby strollers could be refused at the entrance of the palace
  • After the tour, you are allowed to stay in the gardens until they close
  • Gardens close at 5:30 PM on certain dates (August 15, October 29 and 31) and from November to March
  • The palace gardens are free every day from November to March excluding Easter period. No garden tickets are needed to visit on these dates.
  • There are no musical or fountain shows on days when the gardens are free. Prices have been adjusted according to the current 2023 calendar of Versailles gardens show. In case of modification, fees might be applied to enter the gardens.
  • During peak times the palace can be very crowded and there may be a short wait at the group entrance
  • If arriving by train, please make sure to buy an RER Paris-Versailles ticket. Paris metro tickets are not accepted
  • You can bring your own headphones if you have them; standard jack, not Bluetooth

First I must shout out the Get Your Guide ticket office. We were late for our alotted tour due to the train and subway system (its very confusing) and then trying to find the office. The guy in the office was so nice and accommodating. We were able to still get tickets and go on our own. So happy. Versailles was great. For the history enthusiasts you will be in awe. The preservation and beauty of everything is unbelievable. Brought history books to life.

Todo estuvo muy bien. No encontrábamos el punto de encuentro pero nos llamaron y nos ayudaron a llegar. El guía muy amable. Solo nos hubiera gustado que nos explicaran un poco más de los jardines porque al ser muy grandes no sabíamos cuál era el principal o hacia donde teníamos que caminar.

Laura was excellent. We loved our time roaming Versailles with her. she condensed all the facts and details about each room so that it was easy for us to remember and keep our interest. after this tour ended we were given time to roam the rest and the gardens. we took more time to roam by ourselves coz we had to read and translate each piece. will recommend this activity to anyone who values time and energy
