During the 90-minute tour of the main palace, see the State Apartments, the King's Bedroom, and the emblematic Hall of Mirrors. Learn about the main figures of the French monarchy, from King Louis XIV to Marie Antoinette. Hear about the fascinating historical events that took place in many of the palace’s rooms, before stepping out to explore the vast gardens complex with your guide or on your own. Know before you go

  • Baby strollers could be refused at the entrance of the palace
  • After the tour, you are allowed to stay in the gardens until they close
  • Gardens close at 5:30 PM on certain dates (August 15, October 29 and 31) and from November to March
  • The palace gardens are free every day from November to March excluding Easter period. No garden tickets are needed to visit on these dates.
  • There are no musical or fountain shows on days when the gardens are free. Prices have been adjusted according to the current 2023 calendar of Versailles gardens show. In case of modification, fees might be applied to enter the gardens.
  • During peak times the palace can be very crowded and there may be a short wait at the group entrance
  • If arriving by train, please make sure to buy an RER Paris-Versailles ticket. Paris metro tickets are not accepted
  • You can bring your own headphones if you have them; standard jack, not Bluetooth

Laura was excellent. We loved our time roaming Versailles with her. she condensed all the facts and details about each room so that it was easy for us to remember and keep our interest. after this tour ended we were given time to roam the rest and the gardens. we took more time to roam by ourselves coz we had to read and translate each piece. will recommend this activity to anyone who values time and energy

Sophie was excellent and attentive . She gave very detailed history and background if each room as well as the kings and queens . I highly recommend . The place is big so 1.5 hours is a little short. But we have the flexibility to check out the place at our own pace after tour is over

The tour inside the palace with a guide was ok, and the palace is wonderful, keep in mind that for the gardens, if you want to rent electric cars for travel, the last possible ride is at 4 p.m. we arrived around 4:20 p.m. and at 17 the visiting program for the gardens ends.
