What to Expect
On this 90-minute tour guided by an expert in Paris and Parisian history you’ll walk along the Saint Martin canal in the city’s 10th and 11th arrondissements.

Le Canal Saint Martin connects the basin of La Villette in the north and the Arsenal port in the south. At the Arsenal port it overlooks the Seine River.

Inaugurated in 1825, this small, 4.5-kilometer-long canal was built to convey drinking water into the city of Paris. It comprises 9 locks, which your guide will point out during the tour.

From the Villemin Garden to the famous Hotel du Nord you’ll enjoy a walk along the waterway that has been a registered historic monument since 1993.

A major area for Parisian street art, you’ll also have the opportunity on your walk to discover the remarkable graffiti along the quays.
