Full description

Skip the Louvre’s famously long lines gives and visit the museum’s must-see attractions. Your expert guide will unveil subtle details most visitors never learn about the works of art on show. Discover the "Mona Lisa", the "Venus de Milo" and the "Winged Victory of Samothrace".

The tour also features Greek and Roman antiquities like the 4,000-year-old "Great Sphinx of Tanis", other recognisable works by Da Vinci and Raphael, and highlights of the French Romantic period. Sculptures like Michelangelo’s "Dying Slave" and Antonio Canova’s "Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss" add another dimension to the experience. In the Apollo Gallery, you’ll glimpse the Louvre’s own history as the Royal Palace, before Louis XIV relocated the court to Versailles. The equally opulent décor of the Second Empire is also preserved in the Napoleon Apartments. After the tour, you can continue exploring the Louvre at your leisure.

The day before the workers strike we were delayed entry. Our guide kep us up to date every 15 mins and the communication was really good. As the tour started we all wore an ear piece and one way transmitter that allowed our guide to talk to us all without having to shout king sone of the other tours. Our group was 22 n max 25. Carolina our guide did a great job n was very informative n we learned little tidbits that certainly made me want to learn more about the Louvre. With renovations n prior spacing (not now of course) bc of Covid concerns in the past only about 30% or less is actually displayed. However from Venus de Milo to the Mona Lisa our guide hit a great deal in 2.5 hours. Afterwards we could spend the rest of the day there. We recommend do the early tour as you get in first with other your groups. We really liked being able to get with our group yet felt some freedom to roam or sit and enjoy the work longer.

This trip was my husband’s first time in Paris and he really wanted to go to the Louvre. I actually tried to talk him out of it, because I had been there before. However, I never experienced the Louvre like I did on the 3-hr small group, skip the line tour. Everything was very organized and the personal headphones to hear everything our guide, Hamish, was saying was perfect! We could be standing right next to him or across the room and we could hear everything he was saying very clearly. And I can’t say enough good things about Hamish. He was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide and really brought the art alive for us. Instead of being an obligatory Paris “must-do”, he turned our time at the Louvre into a very enjoyable and not overwhelming experience. We even stayed another 3 hours just exploring on our own after the tour. Trust me, don’t try “to do” the Louvre on your own the first time…do it right and go on this tour!

Martha was fantastic! I can’t imagine going through that museum alone or even with a digital tour. She went in depth about art and sculptures. She took us to all of the top attractions too! I would definitely recommend this tour and a tour in general for the museum as it’s huge. Thanks Martha for an awesome three hours!
