Full description

Skip the Louvre’s famously long lines gives and visit the museum’s must-see attractions. Your expert guide will unveil subtle details most visitors never learn about the works of art on show. Discover the "Mona Lisa", the "Venus de Milo" and the "Winged Victory of Samothrace".

The tour also features Greek and Roman antiquities like the 4,000-year-old "Great Sphinx of Tanis", other recognisable works by Da Vinci and Raphael, and highlights of the French Romantic period. Sculptures like Michelangelo’s "Dying Slave" and Antonio Canova’s "Psyche Revived by Cupid’s Kiss" add another dimension to the experience. In the Apollo Gallery, you’ll glimpse the Louvre’s own history as the Royal Palace, before Louis XIV relocated the court to Versailles. The equally opulent décor of the Second Empire is also preserved in the Napoleon Apartments. After the tour, you can continue exploring the Louvre at your leisure.

The tour was very good and the fact that you could see the exhibits with a moderate number of people around was even better. Our guide, Natalia, was skillfull and knowledgeable but the only downward was the bad “signal” of the audio that we were given, so we couldn’t hear very clear the guide; especially if you were a few feet away from the group

Addie was outstanding. If we could give her 10 stars, we would. She was funny, extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. We learned so much from her and felt we came away with so much more from the experience with her than we would have on our own or with anyone else. Give that girl a raise!

Our guide Oliver was excellent! He was witty and was able to deliver his passion for art as he described the various art pieces. This was my second time at the Louvre and I felt that I learned something different. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. He gets all the stars available… the reason I only gave this tour 4/5 is that I paid extra for a “small group” tour and we had 25 people in our tour so the audio wasn’t clear. But this isn’t Oliver’s fault. He did the best he could.. As an FYI, the Mona Lisa is viewed at the end. You queue the line on your own, but the line moves quickly! I would definitely plan on staying after the tour. Either download an audio tour on your phone or pay for the audio tour offered by the museum so that you go at your own pace. The cafe inside the Louvre was an excellent way to rest your feet and enjoy the nice terrace outside. Lastly, bring a back up charger! I forgot mine :(
