Full description

The Arc de Triomphe is a Neoclassical take on the ancient Roman triumphal arch style. Fifty meters tall, the view from the platform atop the arch is well worth the hike. See the dozen Parisian avenues radiating out from the arch into the City of Light. Paris is one of the most fascinating places in the world and you will find yourself right at its center. Inspired by the great arches of ancient Rome, Napoleon commissioned the Arc de Triomphe shortly after his victory at Austerlitz. Unfortunately, he never lived to see its completion. At the base of the arch, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier pays tribute to the 1.3 million French soldiers who died in World War I. Behold the eternal flame that is rekindled at 6.30 PM each evening. In addition, there is a must-see exhibition that explains the symbolic importance of this monument. The view from the top of the arch is worth climbing the 284 stairs. From your privileged position, survey all of Paris. Unlike the obligatory Eiffel Tower trip, getting into the Arc de Triomphe is an effort not all tourists undertake.

The views from the top of the Arc de Triumph are amazing , well worth the 280 steps you have to climb. I have book so many things with get your guide and they didn’t disappoint agin this time. I booked it 2 hours before we did the experience. I would recommend doing it twice , day time and just as the sun is going down as you will see the Eiffel Tower light up at sunset , amazing.

It was very great! My family and I were able to enter with no problems! And with my brother and cousin (under 18) they were able to get in no problems either! I will admit: there are a ton of stairs. Like over 200. We should’ve definitely mentally prepared ourselves, but going down was a whole lot better than going up! The view of the city at the top was beautiful, especially the Eiffel Tower!

Truly the best views in Paris! Sure, you can go up there Eiffel Tower, and that’s great, too. But here for can also see the Eiffel Tower, as well as the Champs Elysee, the entire Etoille, and nearly all things of interest in each direction! You’ll have to climb about 280 steps inside, but there are places to stop to take a breather if you need to (there is an attended elevator you can use to go down if you ask). It’s a beautiful structure and so worth visiting! Lots to see inside to learn about the history of it. If you go close to sunset you’ll get lovely photos of it as the lighting is amazing. Go and enjoy!!
