Full description

The Arc de Triomphe is a Neoclassical take on the ancient Roman triumphal arch style. Fifty meters tall, the view from the platform atop the arch is well worth the hike. See the dozen Parisian avenues radiating out from the arch into the City of Light. Paris is one of the most fascinating places in the world and you will find yourself right at its center. Inspired by the great arches of ancient Rome, Napoleon commissioned the Arc de Triomphe shortly after his victory at Austerlitz. Unfortunately, he never lived to see its completion. At the base of the arch, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier pays tribute to the 1.3 million French soldiers who died in World War I. Behold the eternal flame that is rekindled at 6.30 PM each evening. In addition, there is a must-see exhibition that explains the symbolic importance of this monument. The view from the top of the arch is worth climbing the 284 stairs. From your privileged position, survey all of Paris. Unlike the obligatory Eiffel Tower trip, getting into the Arc de Triomphe is an effort not all tourists undertake. Plus, with skip-the-line tickets, you'll hardly have to break stride on your way in.

highly recommend the view is amazing. If your able to go at night to see the light of the city I would have done it then other than during the day. skip the line means skip buying a ticket line you still need to waite in a line to go up to the top. There are a lot of stairs but i didn't think they were to exhausting.

Up on the top of the ADT the view of Paris is amazing especially if you are lucky enough to be there on a clear sunny day. Unfortunately the experience was slightly marred by it being closed on the day we went for reasons unknown and had to return the next day where the opening time was delayed until 1pm from 11am and no officials around to explain why! however when you do get up there it is something not to be missed whilst in Paris.

If you struggle with stairs might not be the one for you. Skip the line tickets which didn't skip the line, had to que up for 20mins. Once up lovely views and great for taking photos. Just be mindful if a warm day there is no water in the shop or water fountain so make sure you have a drink with you before going up Good value for money just frustrating that it said skip the line and it didn't
