    Important information

    Know before you go

    • In order to ensure your entrance to the Louvre, you will need to book a timeslot in advance. The link to do this will be found on the voucher
    • Reservation is also mandatory for the Orangerie Museum, Museum of the Art and History of Judaism, Hotel de la Marine, and Cité de l'architecture et du patrimoine
    • The days of use for the Pass are consecutive and are based on calendar days. If you begin using your Pass at 14:00, for example, that day will be considered as day 1
    • The Pass must be collected at the tour office near the Louvre, which open 7 days a week from 9:00-16:00
    • Public museum entrance is free for all children under 18 years old, and for EU citizens under 26 years old. The Museum pass is therefore not needed but museums will still request a ticket with a time slot booked for entrance
    • Due to renovation works and the high number of visitors, entry to the Louvre cannot be guaranteed

If you plan to visit five museums in one day, purchasing a museum pass may be advantageous. However, there are rare museums that are temporarily open for free (such as the Carnavalet Museum), so if you have a museum pass, you may end up losing money. However, there is no need to line up in a long line at the Louvre Museum, and there is no need to deal with troublesome exchanges when purchasing tickets. At least the 6th type felt unnecessary.

The pass allows access to most of the bigger museums, however there is a limit of how many museums you can see per day, as some require quite long visits. Sometimes it might be cheaper to pay for each invidividual museum, if you don't have that much time to spend. But I enjoyed having this pass, although I found it annoying that I still had to queue for some museums.

The museums we visited were amazing. The small museum pass booklet was convenient. However, the pickup location for the booklet and canal tour confirmation was not conveniently located, and the staff inside were not the friendliest nor efficient. Had we known, we would have picked up the booklet the day before our passes would start because getting the passes the day of ate away time we could have visited a museum or two. There were some museums that we had to stand in the “no ticket holder/time slot” line to enter, which took over an hour before we got in. Plan ahead to maximize your museum experience.
