The guide wasn't a real guide, she wasn't there to describe what we were seeing, she was there to GUIDE us directly to the chamber where Mona Lisa is. And she did it exceptionally, she gathered us outside at the meeting point, she passed us with priority through the security gate and guided us until Mona Lisa. She is also giving the option, after you see Mona Lisa, to take you through other important chambers inside the museum. We got exactly what we paid for

Full description

For a long time, before becoming a museum in 1793, the Louvre was one of the main residences of the kings of France. Located in the heart of Paris, it covers an area of 73,000 square meters and houses the largest collection of art works in the world, from civilizations over 7,000 years old to the 19th century. The collections of the museum are divided into 8 departments: Egyptian Antiquities, Greek, Etruscan and Roman Antiquities, Oriental Antiquities, Islamic Art, Paintings, Sculptures, Artworks and Graphics.

It was expensive for what was generally a walkthrough of the main highlights of the Louvre, but it was still super helpful for a first visit to the museum to help orient you since the place is HUGE. Of course, you also have the opportunity to double back for a closer look at the collections you really liked, assuming you have the mental endurance to go around again since there’s just so much to look at.
