Current Exhibitions:
Miquel Barceló, Sol y Sombra: Level 1
Born in 1957 in Majorca, Miquel Barceló is the first contemporary artist invited to present a monographic exhibition at the Hôtel Salé since its reopening in 2014. The exhibition, Sol y Sombra, comprises an ensemble of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and works on paper from the 1990s to the present.

The exhibit focuses on the artist’s diverse domains of creation and highlights the affinities of his work with the attitudes, motifs and creative processes of Pablo Picasso. The public has the opportunity to discover, and rediscover, the rich and protean work of this well-known artist of the contemporary scene, until 1 October 2016.

¡PICASSO! Masterpieces by Picasso from 1900 to 1972: Level 2
The selection presented on the second floor portrays major periods in Pablo Picasso’s work chronologically and offers an overview of all his production techniques. It draws on the collection of the Musée National Picasso-Paris, the largest collection of the artist’s works in the world, which came from acceptances in lieu of donations in 1979 and 1990.

¡PICASSO! Picasso and His Personal Collection: Level 3
On the third floor, masterpieces by Pablo Picasso intermingle with artworks from his personal collection, as they did in his studios. The collection features contemporaries of the artist, including Henri Matisse and Joan Miró, as well as some of the old masters he admired.

Coming Soon:
Picasso-Giacometti: 4 October 2016 – 5 February 2017
The Picasso-Giacometti exhibition, organized in partnership with the Fondation Alberto et Annette Giacometti in Paris, brings to light the formal relationships that sustained these 2 major 20th-century artists. This dialogue, conceptualized from the collections of the Musée Picasso and the Fondation Giacometti, confronts the approach that Picasso and Giacometti display in their multidisciplinary areas of creation: painting, sculpture and graphic art.
