      Know before you go

      • Palace entrance is free for children under 18 years old, and EU citizens under 26 years old. In both cases, a ticket with a timeslot is required, along with a valid ID. Non-EU citizens between 18 and 26 need to buy a ticket unless they live in the EU for more than 3 months
      • Please note that the gardens are not accessible without a ticket to the fountain show on the mentioned dates. The access to the gardens is only free for children 0-5 years old on these days
      • Wearing a mask is compulsory for visitors to the castle

      We had a party of 5. Although children are free up to age 18 (26 for UE residents) they still need a ticket or you wait in line anyway. I did not see a child ticket option. Also, the gardens is free for children under 5 so you need tix for that as well. Just know before you go..

      The Palace was beautiful and we also had access to the gardens and Trianon Estate which were beautiful too. Our entry time was 1:30pm, and the palace closes at 5:30pm, so we did run out of time and didn’t quite get to see everything. We also went to the gardens before looking round the palace, and almost couldn’t reenter the Palace as they had already scanned our tickets once. Bear in mind that once your ticket has been scanned for the palace, you should finish looking around that before going to the gardens, or else you may not be able to get back in.

      Fantastic day. Our ticket to the house was booked for 2pm but we managed to get in at 10 am when there are much less people queuing. The house and grounds re spectacular especially if the weather is good. Take a picnic to eat in the gardens. My recommendation would be to buy the full pass @29 euro and for all Under 18’s. I didn’t book my daughters pass in advance which meant queuing for a free ticket to get into the house and then again to pay for the gardens. Very easy to get there from Paris and the house is on the edge of the town close to the train station.
