This was great! Gave us access to everything that we wanted. There is no guide included, but that’s fine because we just used an audioguide. I recommend getting there as early as possible to try to get a head start on those lines. Our time was 9:30 and we got there at 8:45, and we were in by latest 9:20.

Versailles is huge - both palace and extensive grounds. It’s 1 of the most fascinating places I have ever visited. Earphones were provided on entry to palace - they didn’t seem to have much info for downstairs but came into their own upstairs. The Hall of Mirrors was dazzling & the Gallery of Great Battles amazing. The best view of the lakes is from the windows of the Hall of Mirrors. We took a v necessary food break at 1 of the cafes. You can’t bring food into the Palace itself. We also paid to take the little train around the grounds. It was v hot the day we visited so this was worthwhile but there’s no shade at the palace while you wait. Also the train is more transport to other sites rather than a sightseeing tour. We visited Petit Trianon which was so pretty and the Farm. We probably should have seen Grand Trianon but just found there was too much to see in 1 day & such heat. Had delicious icecream waiting for train to return (only 1 train & a few places so longish wait for return

Nice experience but wouldn’t recommend on high tourist season as you cannot view the palace properly from the big crowd which also disables proper movement within the palace. It should be better regulated to get a better value and experience, which is not as good when you cannot even see anything due to the enormous amount of tourists
