Full description
Discover some of the secrets to French cuisine at a small group cooking class in Paris. Held in the Latin Quarter, the class is typically limited to between 3 and 7 people to keep things intimate and personal. You wlll be welcomed at 09:00 with croissant, coffee and tea. After getting to know each other, head to a nearby open air market to find the freshest ingredients for your class, and experience some of the local color of the Latin Quarter. Back at the school by 10:30, it’s time to build your menu depending on what ingredients were available. This will include an appetizer, main course, and a dessert focused on classic French techniques, such as ice cream and wine sauce. Learn how to plan a meal, and what can be prepared in advance. After about 2 hours of cooking - fortified with a glass of wine or 2 - it’s time to enjoy a delicious meal, paired with red and white wines and generous servings of cheese. Sitting in the beautiful setting, you will be joined by a native Frenchman whose complete mastery of the English language will help him share stories about French food and culture. Lunch typically finishes at around 15:00 - but nobody will be rushing you out the door!

The chef was very knowledgeable in the source of the ingredients he purchased. He handled the large group setting well. His instructions were concise and he was very engaging. He included all participants in each step. I really liked this class and would definitely recommend it.

This is not your average cooking class. History, culture, food sourcing and food science education paired with kitchen techniques that are replicable at home. Fred's humorous and casual teaching style and wealth of knowledge of French history and food science made this a day to remember for my daughter and I. Various kitchen techniques are taught and as a group of 5, we prepared an unbelievable 3-course meal. The Market Trip is well worth your time. Learn about the various cheeses and of course wines, and how to easily pair. Sit around the table, in a beautiful setting, sharing wine with your group learning and sharing the meal you created together. A true Parisian experience not to be missed. This experience will enhance the rest of your stay in France as you will know so much more throughout the rest of your travels. Additionally, the location is ideal, easy to find, just steps from the metro but tucked away from the bustle.

It was incredible! The best cooking class ever. Fred show us a lot of cooking techniques, he explained everything so well. The place was super clean and beautiful. At the market he introduced us to some history about the wine, cheeses and produce. He is very knowledgeable and very kind. I definitely would like to visit again on my next trip to Paris
