Go to Napoleon’s former apartments to admire the most beautiful décor of the palace, as well as a collection of crown jewels. The masterpieces continue with the Venus de Milo, the sculpture that inspired so many artists. Head to the basement of the Louvre Palace to see the foundations of the castle that once stood on the site. Choose between 2 options: get your ticket and guided tour with one of the skip-the-ticket-line guided tours in several languages. We loved this tour!! Ivan was an excellent guide- so knowledgeable, friendly, funny and presented the information in such a great way! We saw a lot of the Louvre in such a little time! Highly recommend for first time visitors or someone like myself who has been before but only with an audio guide. Worth every euro!

Without a tour we would not have found the special exhibits. We knew this from other reports and was the reason to book a tour. So that our youngest (10 years old) also gets something out of it, we booked a German tour. The group was small (the four of us plus a mother with an almost grown daughter). The "fast entry lines" were extremely long and the guide arranged for us to get in at a different location so we didn't have to wait too long. This is also a major advantage of leadership. We are not art connoisseurs and enjoyed and were interested in your comments. She was unable to answer questions about the ceiling decorations. Since it was very crowded (according to her, there are 10 times as busy in the summer), her relatively quiet voice was often difficult to understand. She also mixed in French words, which we were able to deduce from English or Latin. Overall, a lot of money, but quick entry and a direct route to the works of art.
