Suggest you book a times entrance as the queue was around the corner for those who just turned up to visit. It was very busy inside and there is no one way system to walk around so it was crazy inside. Was an extra queue to see the Mona Lisa which was so slow it would have taken us another 30 mins to an hr to see it.

Excellent museum. Must get these pre purchased timed tickets. Otherwise you could be waiting 2 hours or so in the ticket line. This is a timed ticket entry. There is still a line for each time but once they start letting people in the line moves super fast. Got there for a 2 o’clock entry. Got in line around 1:45 and were in the museum by 2. Tickets are checked when entering the exhibition. Should go online on the official louvre website if you have young kids to get them the free timed ticket entry for the same time that you have. That way there is no problem with entry. Line for Mona Lisa in the museum. Air condition in some exhibitions doesn’t work so if you go when it’s hot make sure you have water. (Which can be bought outside for 1.50 euros).

We didn’t have to wait very long at all, even for the Mona Lisa. There are not enough signs ( incl. exit) to know where you need to go. DO NOT RENT THE AUDIO GUIDE. It is a big waste of money and several people felt that way. Even the employees didn’t like them and couldn’t explain them.
