Full description

Get to know The City of Light through the eyes of a local on this tour full of tantalizing treats and cultural gems. Start the Paris tour right in the heart of one of Paris’ most expensive and fashionable areas, where luxury, elegance and beauty are around every corner. Stop in at an illustrious food store and take the chance to sample a mouth-watering macaron, a delicious French specialty, and an ultimate Paris travel experience. Continue on to the iconic Louvre, home to some of the world’s most celebrated art. The enigmatic Mona Lisa and gorgeous Venus de Milo both live in this treasure trove of fine art. Wander through an arcade that offers a free glimpse into the famous sculpture gallery, relax in the well-manicured gardens and enjoy some of the best sightseeing Paris has to offer. Next, head to a lively Parisian market to indulge in one of France’s most popular gastronomic pleasures - cheese! Perhaps taste some smooth, mild Brie or sample a slice of pungent Roquefort – known as the ‘King of Cheeses’. Afterwards, amble through Paris’ secret arcades to discover quirky shops, unique boutiques and one of the oldest buildings in Paris. Day trips like these are a great way to live as a local for a day! Finally, walk to the fascinating, medieval neighborhood of Le Marais. Full of sweet shops, patisseries, boutiques and cafes, Le Marais offers insight into French culture and the local way of life.  Finish the tour in the forecourt of Paris’ contemporary art gallery: the Pompidou centre, an incredible example of modern architecture in the heart of medieval Paris. A fitting finale to this revealing tour of Paris’ best kept secrets.

Ellen, our Irish/Parisian guide was fun, friendly and so informative

Ellen, our Irish/Parisian guide was funny, friendly and so informative. She was so accommodating to what we were interested in and tailored to our Paris interests. But also delivered in telling us a ton of stories and facts and showed us hidden gems in Paris: history from long ago and modern day fun facts and tips. Her tour was one of the top 2 highlights to my first visit to Paris. The LaDuree free Macaroon sample was sufficient and delicious. Not to mention the cheese sampling which was heaven and that I devoured (was kinda craving wine with it). I sincerely appreciated how she waited for me (I was 15minutes late, and called the tour company first to relay the message so a big thank you for that). I love fun facts and legit historical info and Ellen knew her stuff. Her insider tips about the Pompidou and taking the time out to teach me how to use the metro was so appreciated. TAKE a Parisian tour with Ellen.--She's the best. You won't regret it for your Paris trip. :) --Joyce

Very interesting, felt like a real Parisian

Went on your with my college age daughter, our tour guide Alex was wonderful. Polite, interesting, and made sure everyone had a great time. We wandered thru the passages of Paris, had coffee at a beautiful cafe, cheese tasting on the sidewalks of Paris, macaroon at an amazing bakery. Learn a lot of Paris history, as well as every day modern life. Great interesting tour for all ages

Wonderful informative and fun tour

Tim is a great guide, and the Secret Paris tour was a real highlight in our Paris vacation. Tim is personable and very knowledgeable. We toured back streets, had cookies at Fauchon, and enjoyed learning (and tasting) cheese at the fromagerie. A very quick three hours, and well worth the price. Not very strenous walking either. The tour was a lot of fun, and we both felt it was exceptional! There were only 6 of us on tour. The other two couples were probably in their late 20s and from Australia. This tour appeals to folks of all ages. Give it a try--you won't regret it!
