Discover the secrets of how the king of wines is made. This full-day trip from Paris takes you to the French Champagne region to immerse yourself in the effervescent culture of this remarkable drink.
The first stop on your champagne tour is a visit to the popular Moët & Chandon champagne house on the sparkling hillsides of Épernay. Moët & Chandon was established in 1743, and their champagne became famous in the 1750s when King Louis XV demanded sparkling wine. Today, Moët & Chandon is a world famous champagne producer, and operates an excellent champagne house in France.
From Moët & Chandon, your tour continues to the village of Hautvillers, located just north of Épernay on the banks of the bubbling river Marne. Hautvillers is where Dom Pérignon worked to improve the quality of wine and champagne in the 1670s.
Continuing north, your guide will take you to Reims where you will visit the Mumm champagne house, which was founded in the mid-1800s by German wine makers. The Mumm Company is most famous for its red ribbon (Cordon Rouge) champagne.
