The trip out & back was nice and smooth, and the rest stops actually very nice (by US standards). The guide did a good job leading us through the abbey and giving us information about Normandy during the drive there. My only negative about the experience was that our guide also had to wrangle all of the unguided tour members on the same bus and many of them either could not understand the instructions that she was providing, or did not listen when she provided them. (There were about 20 guided tour individuals, and at least 3x that unguided.) We went in January, so it was relatively quiet, but in busier times it could be harder to get around. There weren't many options to sit down and eat since it was the off season, so if you go in winter be sure to immediately go eat if you want to and then walk around after. Otherwise the places will be closed. We didn't feel rushed at all, but also didn't try to sit down for a meal during the free time.

The truth is worth going even if it is a bit far. They are 5 hours on the way, and 5 hours back halfway they make a stop to go to the bathroom to eat something in a self-service store, he is not so tired he comes. The bus is very good, although the spaces between the seats are very small. You leave around 7:25 am and arrive at 12 noon, you have approximately 3 hours to visit it since the bus returns at 4:15 pm. Once you arrive you have to take a truck that takes you to the mountain for about 10 minutes (it's free) after you get off the truck there and back and there if you can take it depends on the season, the line can be long. The guide that touched us well throughout the tour and his explanation. The only thing that I didn't like is that it was going very fast on the route and there was no time to take many photos, it should wait a little longer because if there is time to take photos and continue, an incredible experience. I would go again!!

The lady who guided our tour was excellent. Bus stop at the right time for a washroom break. The rest area is extremely busy so expect a long lineup at the washroom. Mont St. Michel brings you back in the Medieval time, as if you were on the set of Lord of the Rings. The story behind it was interesting too.
