I liked the small group, mostly because it made the transportation very comfortable in a van vs a bus. Clementine was a great, safe driver and a VERY knowledgeable guide. Her English is very good and easy to understand. The chateaux we visited were beautiful, and I felt that we had plenty of time at both, plus ample opportunities for bathroom breaks, and a nice choice of places for a quick lunch. I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Paris. In fact, I would happily do it again.

We had a wonderful day on this excursion. There were 4 of us that day and both places were less crowded than typical. Our guide was wonderful and allowed us extra time at each place since there were no lines or crowds to slow us down. Admission and the audio guides were included to each site. Our guide gave us an overview, some tips for visiting, handed us the audio guides and then let us set our own pace. At first, I wasn't sure if I would like that but the reality is it was a good practice. It allowed us to spend more time on what interested us. And, since he gave us a bit of an orientation first, we weren't just blindly wandering. If you are the type that likes to have the constant narration, you may not like this but overall, I think this was an excellent way to visit. Overall, an excellent experience and I would highly recommend.

You’ll visit the lovely Chateau and gardens of Vaux-le-Vicomte, where the “jardin à la francaise” was born and then explore the regal splendor of Chateau de Fontainebleau where more than seven centuries of kings and emperors lived and created history.  Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte, with its deluxe 17th century decor and outstanding French Gardens is enchanting. It is so beautiful that it directly inspired the Sun King to build the Palace of Versailles, in order to rival it. You’ll learn about the captivating history of the estate and its past owners, wander through the perfectly ordered French Gardens and enjoy free time to explore the inside of the Chateau. Chateau de Fontainebleau is unparalleled in its extravagant architecture and links to important events in French History. With more than 1,500 rooms inside, it is a sumptuous palace and according to Napoleon Bonaparte "The true home of kings, the house of ages". It was home to three dynasties of Kings, a Pope and two French Emperors and as such is truly unique among the castles in Europe. You’ll explore its majestic halls, extravagantly gilded rooms, beautifully decorated Chapel and learn its fascinating history.

Meet with your driver-guide outside of 6 Avenue de Wagram in Paris, 15 minutes before your tour starts. A café called "La Flamme" is located at that address. Your driver-guide will arrive with a grey minibus about 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the tour. Please be there at least 15 minutes before the official departure time. Tours always start sharp at the appointed starting time. For this tour it is absolutely necessary that you arrive before the tour starts as there is no way of catching up with the group once the tour has started.

My mother and I took this tour because we like gardens and chateaus. Ha! This was our first planned tour in Paris and we were impressed with everything. The meeting point was excellent and easy to find. The gentleman was very knowledgeable on all aspects of the chateaus we visited. We were just about the only people at the Vaux-Le-Vicomte chateau and preferred this tour versus the other. They have golf carts where you can drive around the gardens. We were lucky enough that we ran into our guide during a break and he offered to drive the cart for just myself and my mother. It was such a treat to have a driver and guide! Right place right time :-) We then had a stop for lunch, which was not included, but there were plenty of restaurants in the area to enjoy an hour break. Fontainebleau was beautiful, but so massive that we didn't get to spend too much time in the gardens like we have hoped. We truly enjoyed everything!
