Full description
Escape Paris for the day and cross the border to the capital of the West Flanders region of Flemish Belgium. The full-day tour, with round-trip transfers from central Paris, will take you to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bruges, sometimes referred to as the “Venice of the North.” Enjoy a guided walk of the historically rich center, admiring the gothic-style City Hall, the ornate Renaissance architecture of the Place du Bourg, and the 12th-century Basilique du Saint-Sang (Basilica of the Holy Blood), among other attractions. Free time will be allocated for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy Belgian specialties, such as traditional moules frites (mussels and French fries) and an extensive selection of Belgian beers. A visit to the Groeningemuseum, home to Flemish master painters, such as van Eyck and Hieronymous Bosch is a popular way to spend an afternoon in Bruges. Alternatively, shop for handmade lace and Belgian chocolates in the city’s boutique stores. During the summer season, you can also take a boat cruise along some of the famous canals of Bruges, built as far back as the 12th century.

We had a great time, the city is fascinating with a lot of little side streets and a lot history. We enjoyed tasting chocolate in some of the many chocolate stores, we also found a great restaurant on a side street so narrow that cars could not use it. The bus ride was long but worth it.

What was great was the hotel pick up and traveling by bus because it removed the stress of getting to the destination. When we were there I loved the little shops and most of all the waffles which were to die for. The experience was magical and my husband and I are grateful.

Great Trip

Translator very hard to understand (French) but she was friendly and the city was beautiful. Small passenger bus with only 20 people...quaint group. Had PLENTY of time to roam around (3hours). Boat ride was awesome. We drank chocolate beer! Didn’t have to check passports into Bruge, bus drove on through w/o stopping. We had to stop for gas on the way back, (poor planning and should have been done while we were shopping). Food was magnificent. People were super friendly. Would definitely do this trip again and spend a few nights just in Belgium. Gorgeous city and a memorable experience on our European vacation. Well worth the money. Definitely would do this again. Get your guide was spectacular in arranging everything. Taxi picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel which was very convenient because we do not speak French. All arrangements were perfect. We left at 6:30 am and did not get back to hotel until 11:00 pm. Long day but super FUN!! Traffic in Paris BAD!!!
