Full description

Escape Paris for the day and cross the border to the capital of the West Flanders region of Flemish Belgium. The full-day tour, with round-trip transfers from central Paris, will take you to the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bruges, sometimes referred to as the “Venice of the North.” Enjoy a guided walk of the historically rich center, admiring the gothic-style City Hall, the ornate Renaissance architecture of the Place du Bourg, and the 12th-century Basilique du Saint-Sang (Basilica of the Holy Blood), among other attractions. Free time will be allocated for lunch at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy Belgian specialties, such as traditional moules frites (mussels and French fries) and an extensive selection of Belgian beers. A visit to the Groeningemuseum, home to Flemish master painters, such as van Eyck and Hieronymous Bosch is a popular way to spend an afternoon in Bruges. Alternatively, shop for handmade lace and Belgian chocolates in the city’s boutique stores.

During the summer season, choose the guided option to enjoy a boat cruise along some of the most famous canals of Bruges, built as far back as the 12th century.

Good, clean bus; rest stops we’re clean but with few options for food; guided-tour is a must to understand and appreciate the historic sites; and canal cruise provided a different, and wonderful view of the city. Glad I did it but 8 hours of travel for a 4 hours visit was tiring—once is enough.

We loved it - yes, the bus ride is long (about 3.5 hrs each way) but the scenery along the way is breathtaking and there is a great stop 1/2 way at a giant rest area that has really nice food service and other amenities. As for Bruges - it's a place out of a fairy tale. Our next trip will be directly there and stay for a few days.

Beautiful city! Great time. Wish it was longer. The tour guide walked us around the city and then left us to explore on our own for almost 4 hours. It was a perfect experience! Bus was dirty, old, and couldn’t control temperature but other than that it was amazing
