Enjoyed the trip and certainly queues for us were reasonably short, even though it was a busy Sunday The gardens were a disappointment as there were no sign posts, no stewards to ask and no seating. The map we were issued with did not seem to relate to what we could see and didn't indicate where we were. We only came across the train after it was too late to join the queue to take it. We were let down badly on the return journey as the coach did not return us to our starting point as promised in your e-mail of 13th May. They finished at the Opera and refused to carry on. We walked a good distance to find a taxi with no luck and back at the Opera Metro the entrance to the line we wanted was closed and we had to walk some distance to the other entrance. it was very hot and we are both in our 80s and were extremely tired. Our tickets cost 7.50 Euro. Most of the above not your fault except for the let down at the end
Violet was an excellent guide - pleasant and knowledgable, but there was far too much concentration on Mona Lisa. At least an hour and a half of the tour was spent talking about this work and we felt that was too much. Venus de Milo and The Winged Victory of Samothrace and other numerous religious pieces were the other exhibits we spent the rest of the time exploring. We stayed for another two hours to see the things not covered like Caravaggio, Delacroix, van Dyck etc. We realise that not everything can be covered in such a short time, but there was far too much focus on one painting. I think the information should be made clearer that this is a Mona Lisa tour rather than a highlights one.
Our driver and travel guide was Hanna, and she was excellent. She was very attentive to the group and very knowledgeable about the wines and the region overall. The cellars and caves are very cold, so I recommend you take a warm jacket. It was a rainy day when we went and perfect for the wine tastings. We stopped for lunch at the village of Noyers where there is a couple of food options including a full service restaurant which we tried and loved!!! This village was quite a site to see because it is as time stopped here. We saw almost no locals only tourist stopping by. The wines we tasted were mostly white and quite good. Overall a great day trip to the wine country in France.
Get Your Guide out me out of a right jam as I had incorrectly selected an evening slot. Everything was sorted and the day began right on time at 8:45am. Our tour guide Oscar was super friendly and knowledgable. I would definitely recommend going at this time as you then have the rest of the day to do more sightseeing
We were late arriving because our Uber took like 30 minutes getting to us. And I was able to get in contact with get your guide who got in contact with the third party provider and they got us into the next group going in so we didn’t lose any money and still got to do our tour.
