Enjoy a hands-on cooking class in the center of Paris and learn how to make a French baguette, as well as make and shape croissants using tips from a master French baker. Go behind the counter of a friendly family-owned bakery and roll up your sleeves to plunge your arms into your flour. You'll have the privilege of watching, step-by-step, how an authentic baguette is made. It's all the little details that make the difference. The baker has owned his boulangerie for years, and his father and grandfather were bakers before him. So plenty of family secrets have been passed down from generation to generation. And they will be shared with you! Discover techniques for getting that crunchy golden crust with a soft warm center, as you bake 2 types of baguette; a classic French baguette, and “La Parisse,” a special version for which the bakery is famous throughout Paris.

      My husband and I were so privileged to take the baking class with Didier and Maryetta during our visit to Paris. It was my absolutely favorite part of our vacation. I bake as a hobby and Chef Didier took the time to answer every question I had and gave me so many tips to take home and try. I’m sure I’ll be a better baker as a result and I know I’ll continue to fondly remember the special time we spent in the Paris bakery!

      Fabulous experience

      This was such fun and Didier is such a character - as well as a master baker! For my husband who was keen to learn about bread making it was illuminating, he learnt so much. For me it was great fun (and delicious) and even if you don’t plan to start making your own croissants it’s still a great experience with lots of entertaining anecdotes as well. I’d highly recommend this experience to everyone. The notes that come after the class are really comprehensive too and it’s generous of Didier to give his email address for questions. He is a fabulous baker, a master craftsman and a born entertainer.

      Not cheap but well worth taking

      We really enjoyed the class. Of course it is not possible to actually make bread dough but manipulating it was a great learning experience. All the techniques used, the skill and experience that Didier had was clearly evident. His passion for his profession is infectious. We learned so much. Though it is not a cheap class to take we are very glad we took it
