We were picked up on time. Friendly driver. Arrive at the jetty on time. We received the tickets from the driver. At the jetty you line up in groups, depending on where you want to go. Unfortunately, we did not receive any information on this in advance. But other Brazilian vacationers helped us in a very friendly manner

Paraty Tours picked us up at our hotel in Paraty and was on time. He also gave us the flex boat ferry tickets for Angra to Abraao. We had a private car with just the two of us, which was comfortable and cool with the A/C. The driver didn't speak much English and we don't speak much Portuguese, so there wasn't really any conversation, which is fine. Communication with Paraty Tours was easy and prompt. The ride itself was a bit rough and the driving even made me feel a little nauseated, and I don't generally get motion sick. Upon arriving in Angra, the driver showed us where the bathrooms were nearby and walked us to the ferry terminal. Unfortunately it was New Year's Day and the terminal area was chaos! We had about 90 minutes before our ferry. A little slower driving, since we clearly had the time, would have been more comfortable. The ferry ride went smoothly once we figured out how/when/where to get on, with the help of a Brazilian who was very kind to help us.

Vouchers received via GetYourGuide app stated that we should have exchange the vouchers for actual tickets to boat, but didn’t indicate where, nor the name of the company. Therefore, it was impossible for us to find the correct place. Honestly, we were trying to ask literally everyone at the (crowded) pier. Luckily, there was a man with a list, showing our names on it. However, the ticket in app showed different destination and we were really unsure whether we embarqued the correct boat. The man spoke very little english and was busy with organizing other people. We felt really lost at that point. Finally, we arrived to the correct place and found a van heading to Rio. This part was good, nothing to criticize. Tha van took us directly to our hotel in Rio. I would recommend this transfer, but would also recommend an improvement of communication process.
