  • Lara Bay and Akamas by Quad Bike or Beach Buggy

    1. Lara Bay and Akamas by Quad Bike or Beach Buggy

Depart Paphos after a short safety briefing about how to operate your Quad Bike or Beach Buggy. Then, prepare to get dusty as you head along the dirt trails on a fun half-day self-drive tour! Start with a drive through the Tomb of the Kings area to visit the sea caves of Pegeia village. Take a short break to rest and look at the shipwreck of the Edro III that sank in 2011. Proceed to the semi-desert of Akamas at the northwest tip of the island, and its most popular off-road destination. Drive along the cleanest coastline of Cyprus, and cool down with a swim in the Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy an optional lunch of local dishes or refreshing drinks at a restaurant in Lara Bay, famous for the loggerhead turtles that come to give birth in the protected area.

Good way to spend a morning seeing a few sights round Paphos! Just make sure you take proper eye wear because it gets very dusty!

    2. Paphos: 4x4 ATV & Buggy Safari Tour to Aphrodite's Rock

Begin your trip with an introduction and useful briefing of the functions of your vehicle plus safety tips. Afterwards, commence your drive along the mesmerizing Mediterranean sea and curvy off-road farmlands until you reach the first top of the tour, a local beach bar in the village of Mandria, where you can take a small break and purchase a refreshing drink. Then, continue the tour till you reach the main destination, characterized by its legend, graphical scenes, clear waters, and large rock in the sea. See the location where, according to ancient historians, Aphrodite emerged from the foams of the sea. You will also get the chance to reach the beach coast via underground tunnel where you can explore, climb the rock, or enjoy a well-deserved swim. There is also a useful kiosk to get a cool drink or ice-cream.  Finally, take the smooth drive back to your starting location where you ...

At first we were a little apprehensive as we were picked up in a random car and taken to the shop which seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere, and were left waiting for the other family to arrive. The buggy was 5 stars, but the pick up transportation was questionable! The briefing was clear and I felt fine to drive the buggy following a leader, and the goggles and bandanas were a necessity - don’t wear clothes you don’t want to get dirty! Once we had our briefing and set off we had a brilliant time. The route was random but scenic and we enjoyed every second! It was an hour drive each way with a 15 minute stop at Aphrodites and 15 minutes at a nice little beach which felt like more than enough. Thankyou!

What people are saying about Paphos

Simply great!

This tour was a birthday present from my wife. After a short search (I was there myself, you are usually picked up) and a call, after 5 minutes someone was there to pick us up (my 12 year old daughter was with). Friendly greeting, short small talk, briefing in the buggy and off we went :-) To "settle in" first across town to the beach. When I got there I noticed something. There were several large groups with buggy and quad. They were apparently from the big hotels and all vehicles looked new and flashed bright. We were only (with guide) 3 buggies and ours really looked like they were being driven. And so it was!!!! The others flinched a bit and we really cruised near the beach through the dirt roads and through the sand. Since the characters are limited here ... In short again ... Simply top My daughter and I had a lot of fun!

we were lucky and were the only ones on this tour (reason of less tourism of Covid). Our guide was very nice and kept me feeling very safe the whole tour. I had enough time to practise my driving at the parking lot before. This tour was a lot of fun with action. We had a few stops where we were able to rest and enjoy the scenery.

It was a lot of fun to whiz with the dune buggy on the dirt road, breathtaking views and also the thrill of seeing two small turtles take to the sea for the first time in Lara Bay. The guide is really a character, a kind of Crocodile Dundee! Fantastic, I recommend it to everyone

Thrilling experience
