What People Are Saying About Paphos
A very great day out in limassol a beautiful and historical place...a professional tour guide and bubbly..
An interesting excursion to the divided Capitol of Cyprus with an excellent guide who brought history to life. An afternoon visit to see embroidery and lace being hand stitched in Lefkara and amazing jewellery made there also.
From a prompt pick up to a safe return journey, the Day Tour lived up to more than our expectations.
This day-trip is a fabulous way to see Cyprus' countryside with the help of a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. From the sandy city streets to the cedar-topped mountains to the sparkling sea - we saw it all! The tour was given in both English and Russian to accommodate tourists from multiple countries. The monasteries are beautiful and provide visitors ample opportunity to admire their ubiquitous icons and relics, as well as sweeping views of the mountains. Stops are well-timed so one is not on the tour bus for extremely long stretches and allow for a lunch break and foray into small villages where traditional Cypriot goods are sold. Due to unusually chilly weather, we were treated to snow-capped mountains (in November!). The drive up and down the mountain is rather winding and might not be suited for those prone to car sickness. Otherwise, I highly recommend this tour as a way to appreciate this beautiful country's history and landscape.
I really enjoyed this excursion. The Troodos mountains were stunning and I was relieved that the coach driver was a good driver in view of the hair raising hairpin bends and sheer drops from the road at moments.... The coach picked us up from outside our hotel and after collecting everybody else from their hotels we boldly set forth. Our guides were informative and very interesting and pointed out places of interest along the way. My only sadness was that there were so many tourists at the monasteries that one couldn't really soak up or appreciate them enough but I think as an introductory taster they were fine. We had an absolutely delicious and wonderful lunch in the mountain village (I cannot remember the name of it sadly but I was very pleased to also 'find' the icon I wanted to buy where I hadn't felt compelled to by one at Kykkos to my surprise. An icon will 'call you' and it was one in a sale in a shop that called me.... Really enjoyed it, would go again.
